Scheduling was great. Wish we didn’t have to wait as long... It was over 40 minutes from our appointment time until we saw a provider.

My son came out with no medicine to help him with his symptoms. I paid 30 bucks for this dr to say he has a virus and there isn’t anything she can do and then gives him ideas for OTC meds. Really? I would like a refund for my 30 dollar copay or a rescheduled appt with another provider tomorrow. Have a manager call me.

Had a bad case of nausea, had a dizzy and lightheaded feelings, and called to make sure my insurance covered them. They did thankfully, got me in earlier than originally estimated and were wonderful the entire time. I felt listened to and cared for. As someone with a lot of sensory issues and PTSD, they were extremely careful and consistent with telling me where they had to touch, or examine. They were extremely thorough with their examination, getting me plenty of tests and scans just to be sure things were alright and I appreciated it more than anything.  1000% recommend these providers

The provider had an amazing knowledge base and could give logical answers to my targeted questions about some possible, but more rare causes for my longterm pain. Went to urgent care instead of my v specialist because of scheduling back log caused by power outages. I'm a critical care nurse so I'm pretty savy. This woman was sharp as a tack, and quite empathetic. Keep her!!!

We made our appointment online, very easy, but act quickly as the appointments fill up quickly. We arrived 10 minutes early for our appointment, but weren't seen for 50 minutes, which was a little longer than I had expected. However, the staff were very friendly and efficient. I would definitely go back if I was faced with a similar situation and needed medical care.

My kids have been sick off and on for nearly a month, so we've visited this clinic several times. I was particularly impressed with Keeleigh, who has a lovely bedside manner and who clearly puts a lot of thought into ensuring that patients are comfortable. I'm very grateful to have this clinic in our community!

I was unable to get in with my PCP, called in and I was scheduled for today.  The check in was a breeze, I was immediately taken to a room and was seen by Ronaldo, took my vitals and downloaded my symptoms.  Very shortly thereafter seen by Spencer who asked a lot of questions, I felt very seen, heard and thoroughly cared for.  Off to imaging, again done quickly with utmost care and professionalism.  The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and listened and informed me of my diagnosis.   I would recommend this facility to anyone.  What a wonderful crew!

Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

This is my favorite Covid testing site! I’ve used both Bellevue and Renton. Renton is good too, but Bellevue is the best. I have had to be tested multiple times for travel and they have always done a great job. Today I drove up and was in and out in less than 10 minutes, which is a new record. The wait would have been MUCH shorter if I would have paid attention and gotten into the correct line. I realized after I pulled up that he wanted me to go into the next line over. All good and no complaints! Please keep this site up as long as possible. My favorite vax site closed (King County Vaccination Partnership at Microsoft in Redmond).

I brought my 10 year old child for a covid test. She has sensory issues so I was very nervous. The staff member who did the test was very careful and kind. She told my child what she needed to do for the test before she did it, asked my child if she was ready, and was very careful when doing the test. Considering the staff member needed to swirl inside my child’s nose, I thought for sure this would be a difficult experience for my sensory kid, but the provider did a fantastic job putting my child at ease and my child told me “that wasn’t too bad… and that lady was nice.” Definitely recommend doing your test here if you can.

Walk-up covid testing at Bellevue College was fast and friendly. Easy to use. The app workflow is complicated (do you need my insurance card or not); if the appointment is taken during the completion of entering the insurance card data you have to select a new time and *re-enter* the insurance card data, which is just terrible UX. But the humans were friendly and i felt safe and i was in and out fast.

Staff are super helpful and professional. Wait time is too long (1 hour if you came in at 9am, and no immediate appointment available for 3-4 days). Bellevue College site is great and has done its best by recently expanding another floor for COVID test to double its test capacity. Perhaps more test sites are needed in Bellevue District considering significantly increasing cases of OMICRON. Thank you Bellevue College staff for working on Xmas eve. You’re our heroes!

My wife and I really love the King county free COVID testing centers. This has been hands down one of the best services provided by the county. I hope the county keeps this going and that more people come to know about it and use it. This is how we get rid of the pandemic, with easily available on demand testing and safety measures. Measures. We also really appreciate the extremely low or non-existent wait times as well as the extreme friendliness of all of the staff on each of our visits. We wish King county and the volunteer staff the very best and hope that these centers can be kept open and indeed expanded as shining beacons of great public policy during this time of COVID.

We arrived about 30 minutes early for a pre-travel Covid test, and we’re almost immediately greeted by two very nice professional health care workers. After we supplied our ID and insurance cards, there was a brief wait, and then they clearly explained how to swab and collected the swab in a tube. Quick, friendly and professional. We were on our way home about 15 minutes after arriving. We are very grateful for your wonderful service. Thank you!

This was my first time getting a covid test and I’m surprised at how easy it was. I was super nervous but the staff was super nice and gave instructions very clearly. I appreciate that they had people do self swabs in the garage so people could take their masks off in the car without exposing others. I haven’t gotten my results back yet but the testing experience was very good.

The last time I came to this facility for a scheduled time Covid test I waited in a long long long line of slow moving cars. 2 hours past my scheduled time I finally received the Covid test Today Nov 12 the experience was very different. I received my test in a timely manner and altogether from time in line to test the wait was about 15-20minutes! Perhaps coming for a 9;10 appointment is the best time to select. All in all a good experience!!

Awesome experience. Quick and easy. The only advice is this: I did a google search of both, “COVID-19 / Covid test near me” and “free Covid test near me.” The first one showed “COVID-19 Testing at Bellevue College (UW Medicine)” but didn’t show as “free”. Nor did it show as being a part of “king county”. The “fee Covid test near me” search didn’t show Bellevue College, nor did it show King County / UW at all. It did have a link for dog.wa.gov but that didn’t clearly show Bellevue College nor free testing. I actually became aware of the free King Co testing at Bellevue College via another location that I called from the dog.wa.gov website. They told me “just go to Bellevue College”. So… please work on your search engine optimization so more people can, more easily, go get tested if they fee they’ve been exposed. Thank you!! The team at Bellevue College did an amazing job and the automated test results (via text) was super quick.

First experience with COVID testing. Very well organized and efficient. Signage was very helpful. I liked that you could register online. It would be awesome if there were different lines for people who were already registered or had appt versus people who had to register. It would make it so much faster for preregistered and those with appt. Overall great process. Thank you to everyone working there and for providing this service during such difficult times.

This is the best place to get tested. The staff are super friendly and really appreciated their professionalism and care each time we needed a covid test. What stands out to me is how they gave assurance to my child when they were so afraid to take the test. The wait was not bad at all. I was able to register while waiting in line so everything went by smoothly and quickly.

I came in for a Covid-19 test to rule out Covid as I’m still experiencing adverse reaction starting the day of my Covid-19 vaccination. While all underlying health conditions have been ruled out as a cause for symptoms, a doctor recommended getting a Covid-19 test to rule that out as well. Jenna Warren showed a lot of care and concern and did an exam in addition to the Covid test, made sure she could access medical history, and showed she was listening. Even though there are no answers yet as the vaccine is new (I was vaccinated on March 14, ***), she did her best to make recommendations for next steps.

This visit was at the Bellevue college site for covid testing. Everyone's friendly and helpful and moved pretty quickly. There were many people there waiting in line. It might be a good idea to have signage directing cars based upon whether the passenger or the driver is the intended test recipient because the healthcare worker has to go to the other side of the vehicle if the driver goes to the right lane with the tent on their left and then the intended recipient of the test is in the front passenger seat.

I had an excellent experience with a COVID test at Bellevue College. I was impressed with the setup. It’s in a Bellevue College parking garage and what you do and where to go was very clear. There were even people directing along the way. I think I saw 6 collecting stations. We had an appt so I did the “paperwork” ahead of time, but they don’t require an appt and have signs with a QR code for you to register if you’re waiting. When they check you in, they give you a paper with a QR code and that’s how you access the results. No waiting and worrying for an email. Because of the QR code I was able to check results throughout the day. I could see the status changing as the sample was being processed. It was nice to see the test making progress. We got our (negative) result in less than 24 hours.

This drive through Covid testing site is just the best. A cousin recently tested positive so I had to take my 2 year old (and myself) to be tested since we had potential exposure. I couldn’t find a time that worked on the online schedule so we just drove up and were helped without any delay. My daughter is really afraid of strangers and the technician let me administer the swab for her, so it was great avoiding tears! Awaiting test results now, but super happy with the overall testing experience.

So thankful to have such a well-run fast, easy, and free covid testing site. I was in and out in 18 minutes (even though I had no appt and this was 3 days before Thanksgiving) and received my results the next morning. After recently traveling to NJ and PA, I only just realized not every state has the commitment to public safety and health that WA has. My East Coast friends were amazed to hear about our free testing system here. Wish you could spread this program all over the country.

I walked up for a COVID test today around 4pm without an appointment, as none were available on the website. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no wait. The staff were incredibly efficient and kind, and the whole process took only about five minutes. At every step I felt like they took thorough measures to protect me and themselves. Thank you for this service and for helping keep our Chinatown/International District community safe.

My entire family got Covid tests here. One of us had an appt but was able to get the rest of the family tested as walk-ins. Staff was super friendly, helpful and professional. Tests were conducted in a mobile van clinic outside the ICHS. Taking the test was super easy to do, takes less than a minute. Wait times were none. Process took maybe 5-10 minutes at most. I would highly recommend getting Covid tests done here. Using Solv to make an appt made it even easier and fill out paperwork online, even as a walk-in. Thanks to the staff at the ICHS mobile Covid-testing clinic for helping out the community! We appreciate it!

We drove in to get my 8year old tested today. We took an appt in advance but didn’t see long wait times for non-appt cases either. My son has had Covid test before at the Paed’s and after the experience today, decided that if he ever needed to be tested for Covid again he is not going anywhere but the clinic at Bellevue College. The staff was very diligent and caring with him. My son was surprised that Covid testing wasn’t “meant to hurt the nose”.

- Verified patient on 9/18

Outside Covid testing. Very confusing signs. Very..... signs are the the garage. Garage does not have testing. No indications about how to drive up. The sign is an arrow on the sidewalk. So did not appear to accept cars. So left and parked and walked back. POOP!!’n. This should not be complicated! Also confusing ‘are you a ichs patient’? Kind of, but just getting a test. My doctor is not ichs...? So assumed that wasn’t me. Even the pedestrian sign on the sidewalk was on a post, pointing at a post. Do you go left or right at the sign?

Bellevue COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Bellevue?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Bellevue?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Bellevue-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Bellevue?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Bellevue including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Bellevue?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Bellevue-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Bellevue?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Bellevue are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Bellevue?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Bellevue?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
