Will not write about my experience other than the fact that the receptionist  young lady that checked me in and took my vitals was excellent. Do not want to share what followed.

Nurse Practitioner and her assistant were courteous and paid attention to my symptoms. I have been at the New Rochelle urgent care before and satisfied enough for a return visit.

I have been to this facility a few times when I have had to take my child in times when her Pediatrician was away. They have taken care of her and even given me a referral so that I may take her to a specialist to further evaluate her. It's not very far from my home at all. I'm glad they are also available after my child gets out of school, since her pediatrican's last appt. is at 3:30, I have time to go to Metro-UrgiCare and feel reassured.

My visit required a follow up later in the afternoon, which was botched up at each step. Different prescriptions were supposed to be sent to the pharmacy that never came over and by the time they did come over the pharmacy closed hours later. Then the prescription that was resent was the same one as earlier in the day and the insurance company refused to cover it obviously. Communication and follow through was horrible.

I was impressed with the services the doctor called and asked if I had any questions the nurse who performed the exams was so nice! I couldn’t believe how fast and efficient the services were and I would highly recommend this place for covid testing. No wait on a Tuesday 10am! I’ve had seven covid tests so far and this one was the best experience by far! I did rapid and OCR exams

Recent Lab Tests Reviews (20)

Dr. Esteban listened to my ailments and took appropriate measures ( blood work and sonogram) he explained all results so I would understand and was so kind. Carol the nurse was also kind and gentle as she took my blood test. Elsa performed my sonogram and was also so kind and gentle. Truly a positive experience at urgent care even though I didn’t feel well.

During this COVID time. The ladies at the desk was patient, nice, and very knowledgeable. The nurse who did my COVID test was more than patient. I was very comfortable with her swabbing my nose.

We were there for CovidTests. Can’t rate facility cleanliness, because the test takes place directly at the door. Everything worked fine, quickly, no problems. But test result took 2 days and it was sent by a new system again. I am registered in soooo many health platforms now.

James the nurse practitioner and his nurse were wonderful. Every professional and caring. The only reason wait time got 2 stars was I waited for over an hour to get a chest X-ray. I understand being very cautious when there is a patient who presents some Covid symptoms and the need to take extra measures but was completely disappointed with this wait from radiology and as such I left without getting the X-ray. While I will wait for the results of the Covid test and strep just wonder why WestMed doesn’t utilize rapid Covid tests also

Excellent! Booked appointment online, got a call advising to come earlier to allow for radiology services if necessary, whole staff very courteous and attentive particularly (nurse) Carol and of course the physician as well as the radiology technician. Lab work including blood test and cat scan done promptly to rule out causes that can be serious if treatment is delayed. Dr. ensured cat scan results were obtained quickly and communicated results and next steps.

It was strange to be tested in an alcove and need to wait outside. However, I respect the need to keep health care workers safe.

Dr Carter saved my life. She listened to my complaints, did the appropriate tests and sent me to the ER. She knew I had blood clots by the special blood work she requested. I had 2 clots, one in each lung. She really listens to her patients, I can't thank her enough. Radiology was a disaster. I waited one and a half hour for a chest xray. I kept asking why are all the people who came after me going before me, they misplaced my sheet in the wrong folder, then someone came out and placed it in the right folder in the back....Dr Carter actually came to look for me because she was concerned that I hadn't returned to Urgent care. A million A+ for Dr Carter and a F- for Radiology.

White Plains Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
