Urgent care
Lab testing
Took my daughter in for wet cough, runny nose, fever, left-sided pain. Nurse practitioner quickly listened to my daughter’s lungs and said they were clear. Then swabbed her for flu and said it was positive. Two days later my daughter is worse and still complaining of left sided pain. No one at her school has the flu and she was vaccinated against the flu a month ago. We take her to a pediatric hospital ER bc she won’t eat or drink. They immediately do a CXR, and on physical exam note that there are decreased breath sounds on the L. CXR confirms left lower lobe pneumonia. Little Spurs missed it. Zero stars.

The wait takes a little while but honestly that’s to be expected when you’re at any hospital or clinic. Everyone is very kind and accommodating. Always a very clean clinic. Only thing I would recommend is to turn the tv down in the lobby. When you’re ill and or having a headache all day the last thing you want to hear is the tv blaring. Thanks bunches ladies

About Kidney Profile Testing

Kidney Profile Testing is a set of diagnostic tests that assesses the health and function of the kidneys. These tests measure various substances in the blood and urine to evaluate kidney function, detect kidney diseases, and monitor kidney health. Kidney Profile Testing is essential for identifying early signs of kidney dysfunction and guiding appropriate medical interventions.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in San Antonio, Texas, and want to assess your kidney health or have risk factors for kidney disease, Kidney Profile Testing is recommended. This panel is especially important for individuals with diabetes, high blood pressure, family history of kidney disease, or those taking medications that can affect kidney function.

Tests Included in Kidney Profile

Kidney Profile Testing typically includes the following tests:

  • Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP): Measures electrolyte levels, glucose, and kidney function markers, such as blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine.
  • Urinalysis: Analyzes urine for signs of kidney disease, urinary tract infections, or other abnormalities.
  • Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR): Calculates the rate at which the kidneys filter waste products from the blood.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of Kidney Profile Testing results is based on the specific values of each test component. Abnormal results may indicate kidney dysfunction or the presence of kidney disease.

Importance of Kidney Profile

Kidney Profile Testing is important for:

  • Assessing kidney function and detecting early signs of kidney disease
  • Monitoring kidney health in individuals with chronic conditions or risk factors
  • Adjusting medication dosages for individuals with kidney impairment
  • Guiding appropriate medical interventions to protect kidney function

Following the Test

After Kidney Profile Testing, healthcare providers review the results with individuals and offer recommendations based on the findings. If abnormal results are detected, further testing and medical evaluation may be necessary to determine the underlying cause and develop a treatment plan.

Kidney Profile Testing is an essential tool for assessing kidney health and promoting early detection and management of kidney diseases, enabling individuals in San Antonio, Texas to maintain optimal kidney function and overall well-being.
