Overview of STD Testing in Irving

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This includes individuals who have multiple sexual partners, those who have had unprotected sex, and people who have noticed symptoms of an STD. It's important to remember that many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they present no visible signs or symptoms. Therefore, regular testing is crucial even if you feel healthy.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a vital part of maintaining your overall health. According to the CDC, untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications. It also helps prevent the spread of these diseases to others.
