Everything was good except for one thing... She did the quick results in front of me and I was very surprised and unprepared for one of the results to be a non-negative. It turned out to be because of a prescription that I'm on. It was very unsettling. They should ask about prescriptions and/or provide a list of medications that will affect the results. We have enough anxiety in society already.

Overview of STD Testing in Vancouver

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing, regardless of age, gender, or sexual orientation. It's particularly important for those with multiple sexual partners, those who have had unprotected sex, and those who have never been tested before. According to the CDC, sexually active women under 25, men who have sex with men, and individuals with HIV should undergo routine STD screenings.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a crucial step in maintaining your overall health. Many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning you can carry and transmit the disease without showing any signs. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, preventing potential long-term health complications and reducing the spread of these diseases.
