My visit to NextCare UrgentCare was good! I scheduled an appointment online and was able to get right in. There was not a wait at all and the medical assistant and provider were both very friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend NextCare urgent care for anyone who has a need to see a provider but can’t get in to their primary care provider. They provide the best care of urgent care facilities in Lee’s Summit.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Liberty cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Liberty or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Liberty urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Liberty are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • Do urgent care centers in Liberty take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Liberty urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

  • How do I book an appointment online with an urgent care in Liberty?

Solv allows Liberty residents and visitors to book urgent care visits online with just a few taps. Same-day and next-day visit times are generally available, and you can search for real-time availability clinics.

  • How can I find an urgent care in Liberty who takes my insurance?

Solv allows you to find any of the urgent care and walk-in clinics in Liberty, many of which accept most major commercial insurances. Just browse the clinics page to see if your carrier and plan is listed. If you are still unsure, it is best to contact the urgent care center directly for clarification.

  • Do Liberty urgent care centers offer virtual visits or telemedicine?

Many urgent care centers, including those in Liberty, now offer virtual visits or telemedicine for residents and visitors throughout the state. Virtual urgent care visits are generally booked online whether in advance or on-demand. Clinics that do offer virtual care have a video icon on their profiles.

  • What is the best urgent care center in Liberty?

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Liberty, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. For some consumers, that could mean the closest location whereas other people may prioritize patient reviews, service costs, availability, or whether or not the provider accepts their insurance. With the list of locations above, use the filters provided to narrow the results to find the best urgent care for your needs.

  • What is urgent care?

Urgent care are available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.

Recent Urgent Care Reviews (20)

This was my initial visit to NextCare Urgent Care, Liberty, MO. What a warm and welcoming reception! Each subsequent visitor was treated with the same respect. The nursing staff was professional and efficient. Thank you.

- Verified patient on 12/21

A little bit of a wait but not bad at all. This was the best urgent care experience I’ve had. I’ll go here from now on.

- Verified patient on 1/1

It’s urgent care. I didn’t expect the wait time to be low. Everything else was amazing.

- Verified patient on 10/4

Overall, a horrible time. I got in at a decent time and didn’t see the doctor until 2 hours after being in the room. The nurse and doctor both rolled their eyes and had looks of confusion like I was speaking a foreign language, when I told them my symptom with what I was experiencing. It took the doctor over 45 minutes to give me my papers. The front desk lady, however, was amazing and very nice. I was in the urgent care for over 3 hours.

- Verified patient on 8/28

Had an appointment and still had to wait 20 minutes before being seen. This time was not for paperwork because I was in earlier in the week. Also, what’s the purpose of making the patient upload their ID and insurance online if you still require it at check in. Seems like a waste of time for the patient to even bother uploading it before hand. Receptionist kept coughing into her hand, patients at check in use the same clipboards and pens without any cleaning occurring between uses. After completing rapid test, had to wait 15+ minutes for the nurse practitioner to stop by for less than a minute. Overall took almost an hour for less than 5 minutes of required time. I would not recommend to others due to the lack of regard to being an URGENT care.

- Verified patient on 6/20

They are always so nice and amazing with my kids!!! Even feeling awful from illness we always get a good laugh in there!!! They're extremely caring and the facility is always very clean!!! And it's so easy to get checked in , get in a room, and in no time you're done!!!! This is by far the best urgent care I've ever been too....I actually don't even goto their regular doctor office unless it's their regular check ups I'd rather come here because I feel extremely comfortable and not judged at all!!!! Family feel!!! :) Thank you for all your help!!!

- Verified patient on 5/13

Once again 5 star service from FNP Molly Omohondo. She is thorough, listens to your concerns and gets you in and out in a timely fashion. My only wish is that she could be used as a primary care physician. We LOVE her! I do think the appointment scheduling for Express Care is the dumbest thing JCMG could do. You have advertised for years as a first come first serve and I as a patient would be mad if I were not aware of the scheduling option and walked in and had been waiting a long time and then someone made an appointment and walks in and goes right back. Either be urgent care or not plus I witnessed an older gentleman trying to sign in on the app as a walk in and it was a joke. Your older generation is not going to like or understand this.

- Verified patient on 1/31

The lady I checked in with was wonderful. I felt valued by her genuinely. She was friendly and helpful the entire time of my wait. If I had her the entire visit, my rating would have been all 5-stars. Her name is Megan. The lady that did my screening Melissa was okay; however, I was surprised that she would ask me “are you still having your period” instead of “what is the date of your last period”. It was off-putting. I am nowhere near menopause and when I told her it was last month she wanted me to narrow it down. I feel like I had to prove that I had a period. Maybe I am being overly sensitive but this is how I felt. I wasn’t at an on/gym office where they make older women feel like they are past their prime, I was at an urgent care. Also when I was transferred to the patient room to wait for the provider, I could hear everything the was being said as she interviewed the next patient. The walls are very thin, which is a bit concerning, especially when you expect a level of privacy at a medical office. The provider Contessa was okay, average bedside manner. I didn’t feel as if the nites and reason for my visit were clear to her. So it made me feel as if Melissa only wrote some and not all of why I was there. Overall I did get the sense that there was much that could be done for my symptoms and a waste of two hours to still leave with no clear diagnosis. She did prescribe something for the diarrhea. So I am hoping that my “guess” as to what was going on (either stomach virus or food poisoning) just goes away in its own. Only a urine sample was taken. No stool sample. Take the medicine for diarrhea and if it doesn’t go away by tomorrow (72 hours) come back

- Verified patient on 6/11

The receptionist seemed a little reserved, but once I got beyond the front desk, all the caregivers were warm, welcoming, and were very attentive to my needs. I will not only recommend NextCare, I will continue to go back for all my urgent care needs.

- Verified patient on 1/5

Receptionist was rude and hateful and rolled her eyes when I explained I had been waiting 2 hours. Tabitha was exceptional. Don’t know who I saw-dr or nurse practitioner. She never introduced herself. No real examination. Tested negative for Covid and flu. Temperature was taken and that was all. Tabitha is an asset in that office. Felt tension upon entering front desk. Receptionist was training new employee. She had a bad attitude and doesn’t need to be up front or training anyone. I’ve worked in healthcare for 40 years and never been treated like that nor would I treat patients like that. I would never go back to that urgent care or recommend it to anyone.

- Verified patient on 10/13

I had an awesome visit. Katie was my medical professional and I cannot say enough about her compassion, bed side manners and making sure I was comfortable while I was getting treated. I called her a Doctor and she corrected me by saying ‘she’s a Nurse Practitioner’. In my eyes she’s a doctor. She is truly a God sent and really cares about her patient’s. I know during this Pandemic like many others; she was right there on the front line. Thank you 🙏 again Dr. Katie ☺️ and Urgent Care~

- Verified patient on 7/19

I must tell you that Megan was extraordinary. The nurse that initially saw me, also very uplifting. We have family friends living living in Jamaica and a young dad lost his life last week because, even though he was able to be hospitalized, he could not get the ICU bed that he needed. I am so grateful for my urgent care on church road and and for having resources that we so often take for granted. God bless and don't forget special accolades to Megan...front desk. Julia

- Verified patient on 10/18

Staff was all extremely polite. Only issue was wait time but I guess that is expected being urgent care.

- Verified patient on 8/18

The nurse practitioner could not prior authorization for medication.i had to spent $58.00 for medication. Even my insurance company had no issues giving me free of charge. But doctor could not prior authorize for medicine. They should tell me before. At least I know I am not going to visit this urgent care. Monopoly policies.

- Verified patient on 9/19

Never got in wait time was ridiculous so I left to go to emeryroom Even you make appt it doesn’t matter No sense of urgency whatsoever Never go back and anybody I know hopefully they don’t Nothing urgent about your urgent care other than wanting to collect your copay

- Verified patient on 6/27

I called to see if I could come in to get a walk in COVID test.I was told yes but that it's best to come early because there are only a number of tests and it's first come first serve.. I didn't really receive any instructions about what to do when I arrived so I called back to see if I needed to do anything different since I am experiencing symptoms...they said no.. to just come on in. I arrived to find a note on the door saying if I was having symptoms to call a number listed on the note...so I called the number.. no one answered for a long time...then when they did they stated "no...just wear a mask and come on in". I went in and the girls at the desk were very friendly and pleasant but just seemed a little disorganized. I filled out paper work with a pen and clipboard and when I handed them back they took them ungloved and did not appear to disinfect anything which concerned me. The barrier windows appeared smudged and dirty. I was also surprised that there was not much guidance in social distancing ...I didn't really see anything in place to prioritize people with symptoms or separate anyone who might be infectious. I was called back to the room and was asked when symptoms started and informed the girl that I have asthma...she checked my O2 sats...but never took my temperature. Then when the nurse practitioner came in she seemed unsure of herself and didn't really ask me any questions or seem confident in doing the nasal swab. It just wasn't a great experience..and somewhat unprofessional. I will probably go elsewhere next time I need urgent care.

Process was streamlined and efficient. Wait time was reasonable for number of patients waiting. I have already recommended NextCare Urgent Care to friends and coworkers.

I understand urgent care is slower and allows walkins. I had an appt at 9, checked in at 845 and wasnt taken back to a room until after 10 o clock. About an hour and a half waiting to even be seen. Which was frustrating. Staff was wonderful and friendly.

Urgent Care Guide

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why urgent care has been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “urgent care near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Urgent care centers typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as injuries like bone fractures and sprains, cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. And at a growing rate urgent care clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

For kids there are special pediatric urgent care centers, usually open after hours for patients between the ages of 1 and 18.

Urgent Care Services & Pricing

Urgent care centers, which are part of the walk-in clinic healthcare category, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at an urgent care including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. You can also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks - things that you might first thing to go to the emergency room vs urgent care, but you’ll have a shorter wait and smaller bill at the urgent care. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $100-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images. With insurance, urgent care will be similar to seeing a specialist with applicable co-pay.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all urgent care centers take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $35-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $100-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Urgent Care Hours & Wait Times

Every urgent care center - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that an urgent care is open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find an urgent care near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
