I am so grateful that I was able to be seen by Undeniable. My mother recommended that I go to them. After researching I discovered they were in my insurance providers network. I was not able to be seen by Concentra Urgent care so I had to quickly find an urgent care because it was close to the end of the business day. I arrived at Undeniable at 5:30 pm received X-rays and a prescription was ordered. I was discharged right before they closed. I thank God I was able to be seen.

Brookhaven Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), sexually active individuals, particularly those with multiple partners, should regularly get tested for chlamydia. This is especially important for women under 25 years old, as they are at a higher risk. Men who have sex with men should also get tested regularly. In Brookhaven, GA, and surrounding areas such as North Atlanta, Chamblee, North Druid Hills, Doraville, and Buckhead, testing is readily available.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial because it often presents no symptoms, leading to it being called the "silent" infection. If left untreated, it can cause severe health problems, including pelvic inflammatory disease in women and epididymitis in men, both of which can lead to infertility. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, which can prevent these complications.

Chlamydia testing options in Brookhaven, GA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care centers such as Atlanta Urgent Care and Atlanta Plus Urgent Care offer chlamydia testing. These facilities are a good option for those seeking immediate care, with same-day and next-day appointments available through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also conduct chlamydia tests. If you have a longstanding relationship with a provider, this may be a comfortable and convenient option for you.

Free STD testing and community health centers

There are also free STD testing centers and community health centers in Brookhaven and nearby areas. These centers provide an essential service for those who may not have insurance or the means to pay for testing.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option. These can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of chlamydia in Brookhaven

According to the CDC, Fulton County, where Brookhaven is located, has a higher rate of chlamydia compared to other counties in Georgia. This prevalence suggests that regular testing is particularly important for residents of Brookhaven and nearby areas.

Risk factors related to chlamydia in Brookhaven

Risk factors for chlamydia in Brookhaven are similar to those in other areas and include being sexually active, having multiple sexual partners, and not using condoms consistently. Younger individuals, particularly women under 25, are at a higher risk.

Other STDs in Brookhaven

In addition to chlamydia, other STDs such as gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis are also prevalent in Brookhaven. Regular testing for all STDs is recommended for sexually active individuals. Testing for these STDs can often be done at the same time as chlamydia testing.
