I had been up all night, coughing, as morning approached, the cough got worse. I decided I need to see a doctor and maybe get some medication for my condition. I did not know I could make an appointment so I just went there. Everybody was great and checking in was a snap. The staff was very very nice to everybody. Thank you for taking such good care of me. I’m taking the antibiotic and it feels like it’s working already. It was decided that I should have a couple of x-rays done of my chest to rule out. Anything bad going on

I'm grateful I could get treatment for a UTI. I would have had to wait until after the weekend to see my primary care provider which would have been horrible!

Lexi was AMAZING! SUCH A KIND and sweet soul! She made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I had a really bad experience at the AFC on Colfax (stay away from there). I called her and she told me to come right in! This is the service one would expect at a medical facility. Thank you so much for helping me get my Covid test quickly! I so appreciate your kindness, it really helped turn my day around! Thank you!!!!

Overview of STD Testing in Littleton

Who should get tested for STDs?

Any sexually active individual should consider getting tested for STDs, especially those with multiple sexual partners or those who do not regularly use protection during sexual activities. According to the CDC, individuals who are in a non-monogamous relationship, those who have had an STD in the past, or those who have shared needles or syringes should also consider regular testing.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good sexual health. Early detection of STDs can help prevent serious health complications, such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Moreover, many STDs often show no symptoms, making regular testing the only way to know for sure if you have an STD.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing is another convenient option. These tests can be ordered online, done in the privacy of your own home, and then sent back to a lab for results.

Prevalence of STDs in Littleton

According to the CDC, there has been a steady increase in the number of reported STD cases in Arapahoe County, where Littleton is located. This trend mirrors the national trend, with a significant rise in cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Comparatively, Littleton's STD rates are lower than those in nearby cities like Englewood and Columbine but higher than those in Greenwood Village and Cherry Hills Village.

Risk factors related to STDs in Littleton

Several factors could be contributing to the prevalence of STDs in Littleton. These include a lack of regular testing, unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and substance abuse. It's also worth noting that individuals aged 25-40, the age group most likely to be parents and have commercial insurance through their employers, are also the most affected by STDs according to CDC data. Therefore, regular testing and education about safe sexual practices are crucial in this community.
