We needed a quick CV Test to travel. Appreciated that they had Sunday hours, was easy to make an appointment, and the lab tech treated us very nicely. He expedited the results so we are set to travel tomorrow.

If I could give this place ‘no stars’ I would. It is possibly one of the worst experiences I have had to date. I took my sister in-law and my mother in-law for a covid test 3 days before their departure. My sister in-law got her results back but my mother in-law did not. Family Health Connections never called to give us a heads up of an issue with my mother in law’s test. We then called Mercy Ijona and Quest to find out what happened with her covid test around 11am. We were told it was not run because it did not have a TC. Therefore, Quest won't charge Mercy Ijoma for a test that was not run. Prior to this my sister in law had called Mercy and she screamed at her for asking for updates on her mother’s test results. So after we had to find an alternative to this problem which no one wants to take the blame for, I went to Family Health Connections on Monday (October 11th ) to talk to Ijoma and hopefully get my $100 back because I had to take my mother in-law to get a rapid covid test done at the airport which cost me $250! Ijoma was extremely unprofessional, barely let me have a word in and started yelling at me. She blamed the mishap on Quest insisted that it was their fault that Quest did not run the test. She was unable to take responsibility about the mistake being from her side. I tried to explain to her that I should be reimbursed $100, if Quest did not run the test since Quest confirmed they won't charge Family Health/Ijioma for the test. She kept yelling and told me she has to pay rent for the office space and I should know that her time cost money. I am only asking for that the $100 we paid for my mother in-law’s covid test be reimbursed since we did not get the results. How is that an issue? She got even louder and asked me to leave or she would call the cops on me. With her threat, I left the office but I told her I will go to the news and report this. I will see if the Medical board would help me out with this issue too because Mercy Ijioma does not have the right attitude to serve customers particularly in a health facility also judging from the extensive negative reviews I have seen online. Please take a look at her replies of her negative reviews from google, very unprofessional and that is how exactly she is in person.

Who should get a DOT exam?

Drivers operating commercial vehicles across state lines must get a DOT physical if their vehicle weighs more than five tons, is designed to carry 9-15 passengers for compensation, is designed to carry 16+ passengers, or if they are transporting hazardous materials. Drivers must receive a DOT physical every 24 months or as determined by a doctor. The rules for drivers who stay within one state will vary. Check to see if Maryland requires a DOT physical for intrastate driving before booking an appointment.

    What is a DOT physical?

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), a DOT physical is a medical examination that helps make sure you are medically safe to operate a certified motor vehicle. Because certified motor vehicles generally are larger and more difficult to operate than passenger cars, their professional drivers are held to higher standards to keep everyone on the road as safe as possible.

How long is a DOT physical good for?

According to the FMCSA, DOT physicals are typically valid for 24 months. However, if a condition has been identified on your last exam that requires an earlier re-examination time, you may need to be reassessed sooner. For example, according to the AAFP, people who take blood pressure medication must be recertified annually to maintain their standing with the DOT.

What can disqualify you from a DOT physical?

According to the FMCSA, the following conditions can disqualify you from a DOT physical: hearing loss, vision loss, epilepsy (seizure disorder), or insulin use. Some prescription medications may also be disqualifying, especially if they are sedating or habit-forming, according to the FMCSA.

What happens if you fail DOT physical?

If you fail a DOT physical because of a certain medical condition, you can apply for a medical waiver or an exemption, according to the FMCSA. This may be granted if you can prove that you can still operate a motor vehicle safely, despite the condition. You are also allowed to get a second opinion, according to the eCFR (Code of Federal Regulations).

Does a DOT physical check for drugs?

No, the typical DOT physical does not test for drugs. However, professional drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing, according to the FMCSA. Also, if your DOT physical is part of a pre-employment process, then your urine will likely be checked for drugs, according to the Code of Federal Regulations.
