I did a walk in. Thank goodness for this place. I didn’t wait too long since I was coughing, chest so congested, tired.  I was kindly and carefully treated. I got my prescription and was ready to leave for home and rest.  Highly recommended!!

Friendly Staff

Urgent care
I was shocked how easy it was to schedule an appointment on line and for my visit to truly occur at that time. The staff was great, especially the nurse practitioner, Brenda K. She was kind, attentive and proactive. She knew the right questions to ask which made the visit more efficient and easier on me. I felt horrible and she did not make me wait or have to talk a lot. I wish I could have her as my PCP!  I definitely recommend this facility to everyone.

Urgent care in Baytown, TX

Baytown is the heart of east Harris County's petrochemical corridor, dominated by the ExxonMobil Baytown Complex and a workforce that drives steady weekday urgent care demand. Houston Methodist Baytown anchors the local hospital. Compare local clinics or extend across the broader urgent care in Houston network.

What services do urgent care clinics in Baytown offer?

Urgent care clinics in Baytown, TX treat occupational injuries from refining and petrochemical employers, respiratory illness, lacerations, sports and DOT physicals, and routine pediatric care. Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital anchors the local network; HCA Houston, Memorial Hermann, and Concentra operate occupational health and walk-in clinics along Garth Road and I-10.2

Most Baytown-area urgent care clinics are open seven days a week, with extended weekday and weekend hours, on-site digital X-ray, basic in-house labs (rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, urinalysis), and standard suturing capability. Cash-pay rates and copays should be confirmed at booking; many clinics post transparent self-pay pricing online. Booking through Solv lets you compare clinic distance, real-time wait, and reviews before you commit, which often saves time during peak respiratory season (October–February) and back-to-school physical season (July–August).

Does urgent care in Baytown accept Texas STAR Medicaid?

Yes. Baytown urgent care clinics accept Texas STAR Medicaid managed-care plans, administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Several clinics also handle workers' compensation through major employers. Verify in-network status with your STAR MCO before booking. KFF data shows Harris County has one of the largest Medicaid-covered populations in the country.3

In addition to STAR, Texas runs CHIP (children's coverage), STAR+PLUS (Medicaid + Medicare for adults with disabilities), STAR Kids (Medicaid for children with disabilities), and STAR Health (foster care). Coverage rules differ across programs — patients should bring their MCO ID card, a state-issued photo ID, and any referral paperwork to a Baytown urgent care visit. If you're unsure whether a clinic accepts your specific Medicaid plan, call the clinic before booking or use Solv's in-network filter to narrow the list.

How does Baytown urgent care relate to Houston?

Baytown sits about 25 miles east of downtown Houston along I-10, anchoring east Harris County and centered on the massive ExxonMobil Baytown Complex — one of the largest petrochemical operations in the world. With an estimated 84,800 residents per U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts,4 the city has a workforce concentrated in refining, chemical manufacturing, and shipping. For specialty visits or trauma care, residents commonly route west to urgent care in Houston and the Texas Medical Center.

For most non-life-threatening problems, an urgent care visit is faster and considerably less expensive than the ER. KFF research consistently shows the average emergency department visit costs several times what a comparable urgent care visit costs, even before insurance.3 Patients in Baytown who can't get into a local urgent care clinic often have shorter waits at clinics in adjacent suburbs, and most major hospital networks — including Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital — share medical records across affiliated locations, so visiting a sister clinic generally doesn't fragment your care.

Common reasons Baytown residents book urgent care include sore throats, ear infections, urinary tract infections, sprains and minor fractures, lacerations, low-grade fevers, mild allergic reactions, rashes, eye irritation, and routine school or sports physicals. For chest pain, stroke symptoms (sudden weakness, slurred speech, vision loss), severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion or loss of consciousness, major bleeding, severe burns, or any breathing difficulty, the ER — including Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital — is the right choice. Telehealth is another option for clear-cut viral illnesses or prescription refills, and many Baytown-area urgent care brands offer same-day virtual visits in addition to in-person care.

Yes — Baytown, TX has urgent care options serving routine illness and injury, school and sports physicals, lab tests, and on-site X-ray for common needs. Solv lists local clinics with same-day availability, transparent pricing, and online booking so you can hold a time before walking in.
  • Does urgent care in Baytown accept Texas STAR Medicaid?

Yes. Most urgent care clinics in Baytown, TX accept Texas STAR Medicaid managed-care plans, though enrollment varies by clinic and managed-care organization (MCO). Texas STAR is administered by Texas HHS. Call ahead with your STAR plan ID to confirm the clinic is in-network for your specific MCO before your visit.

For severe burns, chemical exposure, or any concern about respiratory inhalation, go to the ER rather than urgent care.
