I sliced my finger and they got me in very quickly and took very good care of me. They cleaned up my wound and we figured out I needed stitches and Angel did them and she was absolutely amazing. She made sure I was comfortable and okay throughout the whole process. I 100% would recommend anyone to go see them.

Urgent care in Bellaire, TX

Bellaire is an affluent enclave entirely surrounded by Houston, immediately west of the Texas Medical Center. Residents have walking-distance access to some of the densest urgent care and pediatric care capacity in Texas. Compare local clinics or browse the broader urgent care in Houston network.

What services do urgent care clinics in Bellaire offer?

Urgent care clinics in Bellaire, TX treat respiratory illness, lacerations, sports and school physicals, basic labs, and pediatric care. Houston Methodist and Memorial Hermann operate hospital-affiliated networks within minutes of Bellaire; Texas Children’s Pediatric Urgent Care has a dedicated location nearby; and Kelsey-Seybold offers same-day adult and pediatric care along Bellaire Boulevard.2

Most Bellaire-area urgent care clinics are open seven days a week, with extended weekday and weekend hours, on-site digital X-ray, basic in-house labs (rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, urinalysis), and standard suturing capability. Cash-pay rates and copays should be confirmed at booking; many clinics post transparent self-pay pricing online. Booking through Solv lets you compare clinic distance, real-time wait, and reviews before you commit, which often saves time during peak respiratory season (October–February) and back-to-school physical season (July–August).

Does urgent care in Bellaire accept Texas STAR Medicaid?

Yes. Bellaire urgent care clinics generally accept Texas STAR Medicaid managed-care plans, administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Most Bellaire residents are commercially insured, but verify MCO in-network status if STAR-enrolled. KFF reports Harris County has one of the largest Medicaid-enrolled populations in the country.3

In addition to STAR, Texas runs CHIP (children's coverage), STAR+PLUS (Medicaid + Medicare for adults with disabilities), STAR Kids (Medicaid for children with disabilities), and STAR Health (foster care). Coverage rules differ across programs — patients should bring their MCO ID card, a state-issued photo ID, and any referral paperwork to a Bellaire urgent care visit. If you're unsure whether a clinic accepts your specific Medicaid plan, call the clinic before booking or use Solv's in-network filter to narrow the list.

How does Bellaire urgent care relate to Houston?

Bellaire is geographically unique among Tier 2 Texas cities — a separately incorporated enclave entirely surrounded by the city of Houston, immediately west of the Texas Medical Center. With an estimated 17,300 residents per U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts,4 the city is small in population but adjacent to one of the densest concentrations of healthcare capacity in the United States. Most residents access urgent care, primary care, and specialty visits within Houston city limits — see the broader urgent care in Houston network.

For most non-life-threatening problems, an urgent care visit is faster and considerably less expensive than the ER. KFF research consistently shows the average emergency department visit costs several times what a comparable urgent care visit costs, even before insurance.3 Patients in Bellaire who can't get into a local urgent care clinic often have shorter waits at clinics in adjacent suburbs, and most major hospital networks — including Houston Methodist — share medical records across affiliated locations, so visiting a sister clinic generally doesn't fragment your care.

Common reasons Bellaire residents book urgent care include sore throats, ear infections, urinary tract infections, sprains and minor fractures, lacerations, low-grade fevers, mild allergic reactions, rashes, eye irritation, and routine school or sports physicals. For chest pain, stroke symptoms (sudden weakness, slurred speech, vision loss), severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion or loss of consciousness, major bleeding, severe burns, or any breathing difficulty, the ER — including Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center — is the right choice. Telehealth is another option for clear-cut viral illnesses or prescription refills, and many Bellaire-area urgent care brands offer same-day virtual visits in addition to in-person care.
