Urgent care
Great urgent care! They accepted both my primary and secondary insurance. You can walk in or set up an appointment on line. Quickly tap in your arrival notice on the couple of screens provided. The wait was then minimal, the staff always meet you with a smile and the facility is beautiful. I saw a knowledgeable nurse practitioner who was very attentive and concerned with my leaving with all my needs addressed. When I had an issue that the pharmacy I requested was closed, I was able to quickly have them reroute the meds to one that was open. This will be my go-to location for urgent care when my PCP is not available.

I took my son, who has special needs) into the urgent care around 2:30 pm on Sunday. We were a walk-in.  The registration process was easy and staff was polite and patient with my son.  The doctor was informative and thorough. She was courious about my son’s condition and listened intently as I explained his disabilities.  It was a good visit.

I had a allergic reaction and my top lip was really swollen. My experience was great, from check in to speaking with the nurse. I felt the nurse was a straight shooter as if I was talking to a friend. The lady who checked me in after I showed her my lips because I had my mask on, she was prepared once the nurse was done speaking with me. I really appreciate the both of them and I am doing better. Thank you again..

Urgent care in The Woodlands, TX

The Woodlands is a major master-planned community in Montgomery County about 30 miles north of downtown Houston, with dense urgent care coverage from Memorial Hermann, St. Luke's Health, and HCA along I-45 and Research Forest. Book a same-day visit locally or in urgent care in Houston in under a minute.

What services do urgent care clinics in The Woodlands offer?

The Woodlands urgent care clinics handle the standard load — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations, ear infections, pediatric urgent care, sports physicals, and on-site labs and X-ray.2 Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center and St. Luke's Health–The Woodlands anchor the area's major hospitals, with HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe, Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands, plus dense CareNow Urgent Care, Next Level, and Memorial Hermann walk-in clinic networks.

Does urgent care in The Woodlands accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most The Woodlands urgent care clinics accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so eligibility is largely limited to children, pregnant women, and very low-income families — KFF tracks Texas as the state with the highest uninsured rate in the country.3 The Woodlands is a higher-income market with strong commercial insurance penetration, but STAR is broadly accepted at major health system urgent care clinics.

How does The Woodlands urgent care relate to Houston?

The Woodlands is an unincorporated master-planned community with roughly 115,000 residents in Montgomery County, frequently ranked among the most desirable suburbs in the U.S.4 Major employers include ExxonMobil (Spring campus on the southern edge), Anadarko/Occidental, Huntsman, and Memorial Hermann. Patients route along I-45 into urgent care in Houston for Texas Medical Center specialty referrals.

Urgent Care Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there urgent care clinics in The Woodlands?

Yes. The Woodlands, TX has walk-in urgent care available either directly in town or within a short drive in adjacent communities. Most clinics offer same-day visits for common illnesses and minor injuries, with on-site labs and X-ray where needed. Use Solv to see real-time availability and book a slot before you walk in.
  • Does urgent care in The Woodlands accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the The Woodlands area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services. STAR is delivered through several managed care organizations (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, United, etc.), so confirm with the specific clinic which MCOs they contract with before booking. Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so working-age adults outside the standard STAR eligibility criteria typically do not qualify.
  • What insurance do urgent care centers in The Woodlands accept?

Most The Woodlands-area urgent care clinics accept commercial insurance plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana), Medicare, and TRICARE for active-duty military and veterans. Many also accept STAR (Texas Medicaid). Cash-pay and self-pay options are widely available — average urgent care visit costs run $100-$250 depending on services. Confirm your specific plan and copay with the clinic before booking.
  • Should I go to urgent care or the ER in The Woodlands?

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations needing stitches, minor burns, ear infections, mild asthma flares — usually for a fraction of an ER bill and with shorter waits. Go to the ER (or call 911) for chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion, or any condition that feels life-threatening. The nearest hospital ER for The Woodlands residents is Memorial Hermann The Woodlands.
  • Are there pediatric urgent care options in The Woodlands?

Yes. The Woodlands has one of the highest concentrations of pediatric urgent care in the Houston metro, anchored by Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands plus Memorial Hermann Pediatrics, Next Level Pediatric Urgent Care, and PM Pediatrics. Most adult urgent care clinics in the area also see children.
