Doctor was rude in my opinion. I told 3 staff members where I would like prescriptions to be sent. It was ignored all 3 times.  I waited at a pharmacy for almost 1.5 hours for the medication to be sent since medication was filled else where.

We booked an appointment for 3:00pm! Got there 10 minutes before time, but was told by the receptionist they don’t go in order of the “hold my spot”  they do walk in’s on Sunday’s and go in order of the walk ins despite your appointment time. Why have that option if it’s not going to be utilized? Therefore, we were there for two hours waiting to see the provider. I understand waiting, but it’s almost like False Advertisement and leading people on that they have an appointment time. That’s pitiful. Take the option off the website if you’re not going to offer that option on certain days of the week. It sent the text and everything to confirm our appointment time and then sends the reminder before your appointment time…

I went here because my doctor was full up. This was the best urgent care experience I have ever had! The young lady at the desk was super friendly and was able to check insurance coverage, and get me in fairly easily. I didn’t even have to wait more than 10 minutes to be taken back. And, Raquel Kendall is a treasure! I know providers may change at UC clinics daily, but I do hope she is there often.

The staff at this urgent care are all wonderful. Cold and flu season can be a stressful time, especially with a newborn. The staff and provider I saw during my visit were all empathetic and helpful. The wait list seemed long, however, I only waited an hour. Compared to other urgent care offices, this isn’t a long wait at all! Very glad I went to see them.

Amazing staff. I showed up when they were getting ready to leave, with a deep cut to the finger that needed stitching. They were very nice and considerate and reopened their triage and computers to get me checked in. Everyone was caring, friendly and efficient. It was a great experience.

I was able to choose a Labcorp location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

I came in one day without an appoint and waited two hours as a walk-in before I had to leave without being tested. I made an appointment through Quest Lab Testing for the next day, showed up on time, got tested easily and was on my way in 15-20 minutes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

BMP Testing in Enola

A BMP test checks the levels of eight components in your blood and can be used by doctors to determine if you have one or more serious medical problems. BMP blood tests are commonly performed as part of a routine medical exam. If you are seeking emergency medical care or have been diagnosed with and are being treated for a chronic condition, BMP testing may be required.

A BMP test can be used to check the following body functions and processes:

  • Kidney function
  • Blood sugar levels
  • Metabolism
  • Lung function
  • Blood calcium level
  • Blood acid and base balance
  • Fluid and electrolyte balance
  • Organ health and function
  • Cell, blood, and tissue health

Fasting for 8-12 hours is required prior to a BMP test. Any drugs or nutritional supplements you're taking should also be disclosed to your doctor, as some of them may alter your results.

Because a blood draw is required for the BMP test, it usually just takes a few minutes. Obtaining a blood sample from your arm is normally done with the assistance of a needle. The doctor or lab technician will clean your skin at the injection site and place an elastic band over it to make your veins more swollen and visible (typically the arm). A fine needle will be used to extract the blood sample, which will then be put into one or more vials. The doctor or lab technician will remove the elastic.

During a BMP test, you may have some discomfort and slight soreness at the injection site, but this usually passes after a few minutes or hours. Your doctor will contact you when your results are ready to discuss them, which might take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks.

In some situations, your Enola doctor may suggest additional testing, particularly if any abnormalities are identified or if your doctor is unable to establish a diagnosis. If the results of your BMP test indicate that you have a health problem, your doctor may contact you to discuss your treatment options.

Basic Metabolic Panel FAQs

  • What is a BMP blood test?

A BMP blood test examines eight different components in your blood to see if your body is functioning properly. The metabolism, energy levels, chemical balance, and organ function are all examined in this examination. If you have a chronic condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or kidney disease, it may be done as part of a routine checkup. During a BMP, your doctor draws a small sample of your blood and sends it to the lab for testing and analysis.

  • What is included in a basic metabolic panel?

A BMP measures the levels of eight substances in your blood. The factors tested include blood urea nitrogen (BUN), blood glucose, calcium, carbon dioxide, chloride, creatinine, potassium, and sodium. If you have abnormally high levels of one or more of these substances, you may have a serious health concern that requires immediate attention.

  • How much do BMP tests cost in Enola?

The cost of a BMP test in Enola is determined by a number of factors, including provider rates and whether the test is covered by your health insurance. Contacting the Enola blood testing location or your health insurance provider to learn more about your benefits is the best way to discover the cost of a BMP.

  • Does insurance cover BMP testing in Enola?

BMP testing is covered by many health insurance coverage, especially if your doctor believes it is medically necessary. Contact your Enola provider to see if your health insurance supports BMP testing and to learn more about your coverage and any out-of-pocket expenditures. Some BMP testing companies may be able to check your insurance coverage for you.

  • Where should I get a basic metabolic panel in Enola?

In Enola, a BMP can be performed at your doctor's office, a lab, or a hospital. Many doctors will refer you to a reputable BMP provider who will do the test and report the results to your physician. You can also use Solv to identify reputable BMP providers in your area who have a high rating.

  • How long does it take to get BMP blood test results?

Depending on lab personnel and production, the results of a BMP blood test can take anywhere from a few hours to 24 hours to arrive. Some BMP providers in Enola may contact your doctor with the findings, which could take a few days or weeks. The BMP test provider can usually provide you a more accurate time estimate for receiving your results.

  • What is the normal range for a basic metabolic panel?

All laboratories and BMP providers have distinct “normal” value ranges when it comes to BMPs. The BMP results shown below are usually considered normal:

    • BUN: 6 to 20 mg/dL
    • Blood glucose: 64 to 100 mg/dL
    • Calcium: 8.5 to 10.2 mg/dL
    • Carbon dioxide: 23 to 29 mmol/L
    • Chloride: 96 to 106 mmol/L
    • Creatinine: 0.8 to 1.2 mg/dL
    • Potassium: 3.7 to 5.2 mEq/L
    • Sodium: 136 to 144 mEq/L
  • Do I need to see a doctor before getting a BMP test in Enola?

Many providers in Enola require a doctor's referral to do a BMP test. The main benefit of seeing a doctor first is that you'll be able to assess whether or not this test is necessary based on your symptoms and medical history. A BMP test is commonly performed prior to surgery, in an emergency, or when your doctor needs to precisely diagnose a problem.

  • How can I book a BMP test in Enola through Solv?

Solv makes it simple to find local BMP test providers in Enola and schedule a same-day appointment. In the provider search form on our website, type “Basic Metabolic Panel” and your location. Solv will supply you with a list of BMP providers in your area, as well as their contact information, so you can schedule an appointment straight away.

  • Can I do at home BMP testing in Enola?

Some BMP tests can be purchased online, but the majority of them must be taken to a lab or hospital to be given by a medical practitioner. BMP test samples are typically tested and assessed in medical laboratories. Individual components of a BMP test, such as the blood glucose test, may, nevertheless, be able to be measured at home. For additional information about at-home BMP testing, contact your healthcare professional.
