Urgent care
Lab testing
I arrived 30 minutes before the clinic opened to be sure I would be first in line. I was first, and when I used the app to check in, it said I was first with no one in front of me. However, two patients were called back before me. When I asked about this, I was told one person had checked in faster (not true) and that the other person was only there for a drug screen. Isn’t that a violation of their health privacy rights?  Also, I asked for a specific medicine that I was not prescribed after all, even though the provider agreed when I requested it.  Overall, my visit took over an hour, which seems excessive considering I arrived thirty minutes before open time to ensure I would be first in line. This was frustrating—the other patients should not have been called back before I was, because I was there first and had been done with all my steps in the app for 20 minutes at that point.

I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

A great experience for something I had a lot of anxiety about. Had no wait time or issues at the testing center/lab. Had blood drawn at 3pm and had results by email at 9am the next morning.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood or other body fluids from an infected person should get tested for hepatitis. This includes individuals who have shared needles or other drug-injection equipment, had unprotected sex, or have a mother with hepatitis. Additionally, healthcare and public safety workers who have been exposed to blood on the job, as well as people with certain medical conditions such as HIV, should also consider getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it can lead to serious health issues if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection allows for prompt treatment which can slow disease progression, prevent health complications, and stop the spread to others. It's important to remember that many people with hepatitis do not have symptoms, so testing is the only way to know your status.

Hepatitis testing options in Bryant, AR:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics provide a convenient option for hepatitis testing. In Bryant, AR, facilities such as HealthCARE Express and Baptist Health Urgent Care offer reliable testing services. With Solv, you can easily book same-day and next-day appointments at these locations.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are also a good option for hepatitis testing. They can provide ongoing care and support if you test positive for the disease.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or who are underinsured, free STD testing and community health centers can provide affordable testing options. It's important to check with the individual center for availability and requirements.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for hepatitis testing. These kits can be ordered online and used in the privacy of your own home, with results usually available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Bryant

While specific data for Bryant, AR is not readily available, according to the CDC, Arkansas as a whole has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the past few years. This trend is similar to what is being seen nationally. It's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher due to underreporting and people not knowing they are infected.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Bryant

Risk factors for hepatitis in Bryant are likely similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles or other drug-injection equipment, and exposure to infected blood or body fluids. Other factors that could contribute to the spread of hepatitis in Bryant include lack of awareness about the disease and limited access to testing and treatment services.

Other STDs in Bryant

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also of concern in Bryant and the surrounding areas. These diseases share similar risk factors with hepatitis and can also lead to serious health complications if left untreated. Testing for these STDs is available at the same locations as hepatitis testing, and can often be done at the same time.
