Pain from Sciatica had become unbearable. I wasn't able to schedule an appointment with my doctor, but I went online to Carbon Health's website and had no trouble booking an appointment. I was seen on time, the facility was clean & comfortable, the check-in process was hassle free, and the young lady at the front desk was polite and professional. Dr. Upton was a tremendous help to me. In addition to being able to prescribe the right medication for my condition, she advised me regarding lifestyle changes that might be beneficial. Above all - SHE LISTENED to me! I would certainly recommend this location to my friends and neighbors.

I was going in for a routine drug test for my job. There seemed to be very few people there  and I was shown that there were 0 people ahead of me for the test. I continued to wait in the lobby for about 10 min and nobody said anything to me about my wait time other than they will be with me shortly. Both staff members seemed very short with me and the person doing my urine test was rude and impatient with me when I was wrapping up with a text message. She didn’t even flush the toilet from the previous person using it and didn’t apologize for having me enter a bathroom with a used toilet. There was some kind of issue with the ceiling and water leaking everywhere so maybe that’s why the staff was grumpy but that should not be an excuse.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who believes they may have been exposed to hepatitis should consider getting tested. This includes individuals who have shared needles, had unprotected sex, or have been in close contact with someone who has hepatitis. Healthcare workers and those who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis are also at risk. According to the CDC, baby boomers, or those born between 1945 and 1965, should also get tested as they are five times more likely to have hepatitis C.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health problems if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection allows for immediate treatment, reducing the risk of complications and preventing the spread of the virus to others.

Hepatitis testing options in Paramount, CA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer convenient, same-day hepatitis testing. Carbon Health in Long Beach, CA, is a highly-rated option, with a 4.48 rating based on 31 reviews.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also provide hepatitis testing. It’s important to discuss your risk factors and any symptoms you may be experiencing with your primary care provider to ensure the most accurate testing and diagnosis.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing. These centers can be a good option for those without insurance or who are unable to afford testing.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are available and provide a private and convenient option. These kits require a small sample, typically a blood spot, which is then mailed to a lab for testing. Results are usually available online within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Paramount

While specific data for Paramount, CA is not readily available, Los Angeles County, which Paramount is part of, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases in recent years, according to the CDC. This trend mirrors the national increase in hepatitis cases, largely driven by the opioid crisis and increased rates of unprotected sex.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Paramount

Risk factors for hepatitis in Paramount mirror those at the national level. These include drug use, unprotected sex, and close contact with someone who has hepatitis. Paramount's close proximity to larger cities such as Compton and Downey may also contribute to the spread of hepatitis, as these areas have higher rates of drug use and unprotected sex.
