First would like to say like to everyone working the day I came in. Had a bad fall and had to have stitches removed. Place was very nice and clean got an appointment right when I needed it. The receptionist was kind and helpful. The doctor and the pa on site were very friendly, kind and considerate of all my needs. I also had to have X-rays done to check something I didn’t feel when I fell a week before. With no problem they were also done and thankfully all was ok. I definitely will go back the next time for either me or a family or friends.  Ty so much Nicole

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood, needles, or body fluids that could contain the virus should consider getting tested for hepatitis. This includes healthcare workers, people who inject drugs, people with multiple sexual partners, and those who have a sexual partner who is infected with hepatitis. Furthermore, individuals born between 1945 and 1965, often referred to as the "baby boomer" generation, are five times more likely to have hepatitis C and should also get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it is often asymptomatic in its early stages, meaning individuals can carry the virus without showing any signs or symptoms. Early detection allows for timely treatment, reducing the risk of severe liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. It also helps prevent the spread of the virus to others.

Sayreville, located in Middlesex County, NJ, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the years. This trend is consistent with national data, which shows an increase in hepatitis cases across the country. However, compared to nearby counties like Hampshire County and Worcester County, Middlesex County has a higher prevalence of hepatitis.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Sayreville

Risk factors for hepatitis in Sayreville include drug use, unprotected sex, and lack of vaccination. The city's proximity to larger urban areas may also contribute to the higher prevalence of hepatitis, as these areas often have higher rates of drug use and sexual activity.

Other STDs in Sayreville

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Sayreville. These diseases often share similar risk factors with hepatitis, such as unprotected sex and drug use. Regular testing for all STDs is recommended for those at risk.
