I love this Urgent Care. I can’t say enough good about everyone that works here. Especially, the doctors/NP’s they are so knowledgeable, and they truly care about the patients.  The clinic is always clean. I usually make appointments through solvhealth and I never have to wait.  Thank you!! It’s so hard to find amazing clinics like this, that are very consistent.  Yes, I’d recommend this provider. ❤️

I was diverted from another location so my 1030 appointment was closer to 11. The nurse PA was great, but the front desk girl seemed uninterested and I overheard her ask, other patients the same questions over and over without really understanding What she was doing. The last thing I need to encounter when I already don’t feel well is someone who lacks empathy or patience for the customers in front of them.

I was very happy with the provider who cared for me, she was so caring, polite and respectful I felt like she truly cared. I did not care for the younger receptionist who spoke Spanish and gave dirty looks she had a bad attitude rolling eyes very unprofessional talking like sge was at a park having a BBQ. The other receptionist was professional and courteous.

What a difference between this visit and a telemed call I had last night. They were prompt when I arrived, I was taken in quickly, the man who saw me was kind and light hearted. I told him I was there for a strep throat test. He looked in my ears and throat and in 1 minute confirmed “yes, you have strep pretty bad.” He said he would prescribe me a z-pack and a steroid. (Funny… The lady last night said “we don’t use z-packs anymore for strep”. You can look up that review because she was a nightmare. ) anyway I was out the door quickly, he called in my prescriptions right away and I’m on the road to recovery! A++++ for this office!!!!!

Walk-in Clinic FAQs

  • How much does a walk-in clinic cost in Carefree?

There are no real industry standards, so not all walk-in clinics are the same in terms of services or pricing. Even though the clinics will charge different prices, depending on location, the base prices range between $75 and $125. That is for the normal services and not specialized ones. You should expect to incur additional costs if you require a special service or medication such as a lab test, an X-ray, or an immunization shot. These may range between $50 and $150, again depending on location. Of course, these costs apply only when you are paying in cash as opposed to using your insurance policy. If you are walking in with insurance, on the other hand, you can expect to co-pay around $20-$50, depending on location, your plan and whether you are in network with the provider.

  • Is insurance accepted at walk-in clinics in Carefree?

Each insurer determines if their plans cover walk-in clinics or not. Your insurer may not cover that, which is the reason why you should always call ahead and be sure before walking in for treatment with your insurance plan. Most plans cover that though so it is highly likely that your nearest walk-in clinic will say yes when you call to find out if they accept insurance plans.

  • Is a walk-in clinic a substitute for a primary care physician?

While walk-in clinics treat most minor injuries and illnesses, it is generally not a good idea to substitute them for a primary care physician. These facilities exist to supplement, not replace, primary care providers which may be closed in the evenings or on weekends and holidays. Using a walk-in clinic as your primary care provider may limit your access to healthcare due to the lower capacity of these facilities compared to a regular medical facility. Additionally, you may have trouble seeing the same provider visit to visit, so they may have very little awareness of your medical needs on an on-going basis.

  • What’s the difference between an urgent care and walk-in clinic?

Walk-in clinic, urgent care center, convenient care clinic, immediate care clinic, and retail clinic are terms that are (too) often used interchangeably, creating confusion amongst patients. In essence, any healthcare facility that lets patients walk-in to get treatment without an advance appointment could be considered a walk-in clinic.

An urgent care center, on the other hand, is a subtype of the walk-in clinic model that generally provides expanded services and extended hours. Retail clinics, which are another type of walk-in clinic, offer fewer services compared to the former. In addition, they are located inside of retail outlets or pharmacies, typically staffed by a nurse practitioner and generally cheaper than walk-in clinics.

  • What is a walk-in clinic?

Walk-ins is a term used to describe a wide variety of clinics that accept patients without prior appointments. Different types of walk-ins include retail, urgent care, occupational medicine, and primary care clinics that offer walk-in hours. Even though it is difficult to calculate the exact number of walk-in clinics that exist in the United States given the variable and vaguely-defined nature of the category, 15,000 facilities are estimated to be around. While the majority of the facilities are government, charity or foundation, offering free services, many are private, providing extremely affordable rates.

  • Where can I find and book a walk in clinic appointment in Carefree?

Solv allows visitors to book walk in clinic visits online with just a few taps. Same-day and next-day visit times are generally available, and you can search for real-time availability clinics.

- Verified patient on 5/13

Was amazing considering I was a walk-in and it was busy. It did not take long to be seen and I did not have to wait long for the provider to come into the exam room and evaluate me. Would come back again.

- Verified patient on 8/12

Yes I definitely recommend Nextcare it fast convenient,I haven’t had to visit in quite some time but it never fails staff is always nice and caring! Thank you Nextcare I came in as a walk in

- Verified patient on 9/21

The wait time was long, but understandable. The amount of walk-ins asking for rapid tests was surprising. The front desk was polite and informative even when having to deal with less than kind potential patients coming in expecting immediate service. She was professional and was honest with wait times. The triage nurse was kind and warm to my 5 yr old and the provider was as well. Highly recommend…if you have the patience to wait for quality care.

- Verified patient on 8/11

Been going here for almost 6 years when I need or when my foster kids need care right away. They have been accommodating and friendly. They got me in and my foster kid even on a walk in and got treated right away. Appreciate you guys!

- Verified patient on 9/22

I didn’t have an appt and was a walk-in so I knew there would be a wait—I had a biking accident and knew I had a broken bone. Although there was a wait, I received very good care once I finally saw a medical professional.

- Verified patient on 8/15

This was my very first visit. Staff was professional, knowledgeable and caring. I would definitely go again, if needed. Unfortunately, I did need to wait an hour. Walk-in.

- Verified patient on 11/18

Went there to get a physical are appointment was set for 4 pm on a Wednesday. Made the appointment on Monday. We checked in at 3:15 we sat there til after 7pm. I made appointment for what cause we were treated like a walk-in anyway. Didn’t like it any we didn’t have any where else to go. I booked it on line cause I thought we would have had that spot reserved for us at that time . Guess not

- Verified patient on 11/7

I had a wound check & even if they were so very busy, i was taken care of with the most kindly & professional nurses & front desk personnel I will be back if i need help!!! I was a walk in.

- Verified patient on 11/11

The front desk, nurse and attending doctor were all very professional and courteous and made visiting the clinic the pleasant experience. The wait time was very quick as I was a walk in.

- Verified patient on 11/19

I came here for a covid test a couple months ago and was told to do a video with the doctor and wait in my car. I drove over at 8:40 when my appointment was at 9:00. I logged on 10 minutes earlier as it said and I was not seen till almost 10:00 no doctor picked up the video call. People were walking inside and there was no phone number to call. I could not walk in due to me having two little children in the car that I didn’t want to expose them to potential Covid patients. Very upset that a patient had to go ask my question for me because there was no one answering the phones.

- Verified patient on 12/15

Everyone was professional and friendly, great care. However, I don't understand why they gave me an appointment time when they made me wait for walk-ins.

- Verified patient on 3/28

My husband and I needed a Covid test. We were taken care of promptly even though we were walk ins. Everyone was friendly.

- Verified patient on 9/15

I had to wait full HOUR beyond my reservation time made day before. Why have time reservations when you let walk ins ahead of me after my time? Only had one doctor - need more on busy Saturday’s!

- Verified patient on 11/13

Why call it an appointment online when it’s not considered an appointment when I get to the facility? 11AM appointment and not being until almost 12. Online does not explain it is just an 11AM check in and not an actual appointment and that walk ins are seen before you. The receptionist was cold when saying it is an hour wait. The nurse and dr were very pleasant and helpful.

- Verified patient on 9/22

I was worried that I’d have to wait a long time as a walk-in but surprisingly I was seen soon after I checked in. I liked the convenience of checking in online from my car. The doctor who helped me was professional and efficient. I was in and out within 30 minutes. It was a positive experience.

- Verified patient on 11/9

This was my first visit and I was so impressed with the overall experience. Fast, friendly, clean and professional staff. I was a walk-in and they took me right away. The sign-in/registration was fast and efficient.

Walk-in Clinics in Carefree

Nowadays, convenience reigns supreme. In a world when "next day shipping" is being surpassed by "same day shipping," who wants to wait weeks for an appointment with their primary care physician? There are several types of walk-in clinics, including urgent care, pediatric urgent care, retail clinics, and others. These convenient care sites offer qualified providers who can diagnose and treat a variety of minor injuries and illnesses on the same day. If you've ever wondered, "Where can I find a walk-in clinic in Carefree?" you've come to the right place.

When you need medical help right away, the last thing you want to do is travel to a neighboring clinic just to find out it is closed. It was such a waste of time. Instead, look for a walk-in clinic that is currently accepting patients. It's sometimes more important that the location is "open now" than how close it is or if it has good patient feedback. It's conceivable that all you want is a quick diagnosis and treatment so you can get back to your normal routine. Based on your area, Solv has compiled a list of walk-in clinics that are now operating. The most relevant, closest, and highest rated results are automatically shown first for your convenience.

Walk-in Clinic Guide

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why walk-in clinics have been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “walk-in clinic near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Walk-in clinics typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as minor injuries like cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. Urgent care centers, which are one type of walk-in clinic that usually have medical doctors and x-ray equipment on-site, expand even further on these services. And at a growing rate walk-in clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

Walk-in Clinic Services & Pricing

Walk-in clinics, which include urgent care, retail clinics and others, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at a walk-in clinic including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. Depending on the type of clinic you visit, you could also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $75-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all walk-in clinics take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $25-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $75-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Walk-in Clinic Hours & Wait Times

Every walk-in clinic - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that most walk-in clinics are open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find a walk-in clinic near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
