PA Lopez listened carefully and clearly told me how to continue care. He was reassuring, thorough and the entire visit was handled in an unrushed but efficient manner. Medical asst Ruben was very professional.

Urgent care
Was able to get in quickly and easily, got there first thing in the morning. Specifically the ladies who took my vitals and blood draw were so sweet and caring and had great bedside manner. The nurse practitioner made me uncomfortable and not the friendliest, not good beside manner. I was also informed that she incorrectly told me how to take prednisone. She told me to take it as needed. When I discussed this with the pharmacist and then a doctor friend, both told me how careless it was of her to prescribe prednisone as needed—you need to be tapered off of it, and if not taken consistently, there can be side effects that include damage to kidneys. I was super frustrated to learn that I was advised incorrectly, but super grateful for a pharmacist to make sure I was taken care of properly. Incorrect usage of a common medication and poor bedside manner definitely made me question my quality of care.

Urgent care
As long as Nadine Shelepak PA-C is at Alliance, I will not return. I am prone to sinus infections and have been going to Alliance for over 8 years.  I have a file with the prescriptions given to me before.  After explaining this to Nadine, she didn’t give me what I’ve always been given. Her bedside manner is atrocious. She didn’t listen to my concerns and rushed me out.  Once again, if Nadine is at Alliance, I will never return.

This was one of the best experience I’ve had at an urgent care/emergency. The front desk, Diana was amazing. She was very helpful and friendly. She made me feel like she was there for me. The doctor and Assistant were both very professional and made me feel comfortable. They were patient and caring which is hard to find now a days. I would definitely go back to this clinic in 19th ave and northern!

I’ve been to other urgent care but you all are top notch. As soon as I stepped in the door the front desk was professional, polite, and courteous, your system to fill out forms is user friendly, everyone was efficient, knowledgeable, and genuine. And the Dr who saw my son is absolutely heaven sent. She was amazing my son felt comfortable and she knows her stuff. You all are amazing!! In the future I will only visit this place. Thank you all. I’ll recommend your location to everyone.

I could not be more pleased with my visit to this Urgent Care facility. Not only were they able to schedule me promptly, only an hour and a half wait compared with Cvs minute clinic next day appointment, but the staff, from the nurses to the receptionist were all very friendly and helpful for my situation. Should I need to see urgent care again, I would save time calling all over Phoenix and just come straight here. When a medical issue is urgent, an appointment days or weeks later is not going to cut it. Highly recommended!

Despite we’re in the times of Covid-19, my wait time of approximately 20 minutes was rather fast because I had a wrist break. Considering taking X-rays, reading them, and then the staff having to immobilize my wrist for comfort until I could get into an Ortho specialist in which the NextCare doctor had given me a list of names to do so, my appointment was only 2 hours long. I appreciated their concern and comfort care throughout my discomfort of a broken bone in the radius of my hand. I was able to get an Appt to see an Ortho Specialist the next day and am grateful for NextCare’s encouragement in this process. NextCare Urgent Care has always been my go to place for emergency services and will remain so because of their expertise plus they are conveniently located less than 2 miles from my house. Thanks for all you did for me especially since this happened 2 weeks before Christmas! Gratefully yours ~ PJ

I had an exceptional time at Nextcare. I waited in line like everyone else, but couldn’t stand anymore because I am pregnant and did not feel good. The staff was so friendly and caring toward me, letting me sit down and get treatment so quickly. They brought me water and just treated me amazing. I was extremely impressed with the care of this urgent care. I will recommend them to anyone that needs it.

Very nice friendly staff. I was asked on phone regarding allergies I said I have bad reaction to sulfites. Was given prescription for doxycycline hyclate 100 mg along with various allergy recommendations. Got home from CVS read precautions it said contained sulfites also was not asked but have hiatal hernia as well as trouble swallowing due to esophageal issues. Had to call cvs to try to return couldn’t take prescription for antibiotic. Not enough questions asked by personnel before writing prescription… therefore unsatisfied for not being able to get what I went to urgent care for.

This was the first urgent care I have ever went to where every single one of the staff members I was in contact with were equally amazing as the next. Due to COVID I know there are a lot of changes and even though they are a pain I’m pleasantly surprised on how well organized everything was my wait time was not as long as I thought it would be and my actual appointment was very detailed and fast witch worked perfect!

This was the best visit to an urgent care I've had. The woman at the front was working non stop and wasn't rude to a single person. She was so nice and sang while she worked. Amazing. The pro that took my BP and temp was extremely nice. This was my second time with this doctor and he is super professional and very nice as well. I gave 2 stars for the wait, but there really isn't anything that can be done about that l, so I'm not upset. It just happened to be a long wait. Great job

We are so fortunate to live next to this Next Care Urgent Care! Everyone one here is so friendly, they actually care about each patient, they listen to our issues, and find solutions to solve our immediate medical issue. I was fortunate to interact with Dr. Jeannette and Nurse Tommy - both were super great to work with, informative, quick to respond, and they were so kind. I didn't feel like a "number" with them. And I felt as if all of my questions & concerns were answered completely. I am so happy we live so close to this Next Care. If we are ever in need to see a medical professional, we can be here in a matter of minutes, and be seen quickly and with complete care. Thank you to the team, including the Front Desk Manager who was so sweet to me upon check in.

I came as a walk-in and was able to be seen within 1.5 hours. Considering there were already people waiting and what I came in for wasn’t as urgent, I was very happy with the short turnaround time! All the staff members I interacted with were super nice, friendly, super helpful, and genuinely seemed to care about all the patients! I have been to other urgent care systems around the valley and none have come close to the great experience I had at NextCare. Thanks!

This was the third urgent care I went to for my “excessive cough” that I have had for about a month. I am a 911 Operator so I am unable to work if I am coughing all the time. I walked into NextCare and told them what my issue was. The wait was not bad at all! Every medical staff I interacted with was extremely nice and helpful! Their PA was able to diagnose me and sent over three prescriptions to my pharmacy which the other Urgent Care’s just told me to keep waiting it out. I would definitely recommend this Urgent Care!

Next Care Urgent Care is what I call “modern medicine”. Or “current care”. Meaning that the way Next Care is managed as a business and as a medical facility should be adopted by ALL medical facilities! Mind you this is for non life threatening issues. Go to the emergency room for that. For all other medical needs for any member of your family, I highly recommend going here or to a facility that is managed the same way. 1. Once you register you wait time can be managed from a smart phone. This provides you the opportunity to stay home until the staff is ready to see you. No waiting at the office. You can if you wish (aside from COVID related issues). They will text you when it is time to come in. Drive straight to the office and they will be expecting you. 2. Treatment is pretty standard but very friendly. No stuffy Dr. or clinical feeling. 3. They offer a membership program for $39 a month. To get started I paid around $170 for 3 months. My bill was well over $300 for the visit and two tests. Any future visit only costs $39 + and outside treatment and or testing if needed. For someone that doesn’t have OVER PRICED MEDICAL INSURANCE this is extremely affordable access to awesome medical care and preventative treatment. Even if you have medical insurance I would still recommend this service if nothing more then the wait time. We all know nursing a sick child is way easier at home then in the office. Plus you can’t beat the cost. Highly recommend! Go Next Care.

I’m not from phx and only heard of Banner health. Trying to get a X-ray for my daughter and see an MD. Every location I called they were boarderline just annoyed I called or downright rude. Banner I guess is socialized medicine now . One urgent care we just walked out after the snotty girl demanded that I leave the building (covid natzi ) like I , a perfectly healthy person, was a threat to everyone there ( zero ppl in waiting room ) and could NOT go back w my daughter! But to order me OUT of the building crossed the line. We got something to eat wondering if we’d ever find a “normal” urgent care .we saw Alpha Med was right around the corner. We walked in , ppl friendly , it looked clean and professional and they said “sure!” You can be with your daughter ! MD was not on duty but saw a great PA, who listened to everything in detail and did thorough exam . Was very pleasant and took time with us . Even Tex me later that night regarding substituting meds and calling that in that evening ! I wasn’t expecting that! Usually it’s next day after 6 pm . Overall very A plus experience ! 180 degree opposite from the angry , controlling banner health ppl !

It was later at night when I had to rush my hubby to urgent care...it seemed this location was one of the very few open at 9-10-11pm. It was quite a drive for us, but turned out to be worth the drive over the extreme costs at an ER. Friendly staff, informative, helpful, empathetic & the wait was very reasonable considering approx 4-5 people were in front of us. Nobody likes to wait even a minute when your not feeling well, but it really was pretty fast. The PA-C was very efficient & listened - asked the right questions & worked with us to determine what RX would work best for his diagnoses condition. Actually it took longer to get our RX filled at the pharmacy than it did to get into and treated at Urgent Care! Thanks guys! Will definitely share our experience with others!

It was perfect from beginning to end. The PA was amazing & the rest of the staff All I can say is thank God for that urgent care. !!!!! My antibiotic was ready for me to pick up when I left. I could not believe just how fast the meds were ready !! Amazing - just amazing The PA was very helpful , Knowledgeable , very informative & caring beyond any care I witnessed. I walked out Of there relieved that I truly had the best care possible. This is the absolute truth that I do not take lightly. The care was Beyond excellent. Maggie

I was very happy that I made the appointment on-line along with all the paperwork. It was WONDERFUL to not have to fill out those papers while digging for med card & drivers license that never comes out. In addition there was a choice on the app to put in all the usual information not just for this visit but for any future visits. You take pic of front/back of insurance card and drivers license. The waiting area was very clean and not crowded at all. The DR. who saw me was very personable and professional. She provided easy suggestions on how to manage my illness and checked to see which medication would work for me AND my insurance. I love this place! Now I'll never have to go to that other Urgent care in Laveen. It was like a small circus over there and not very friendly or attentive physicians.Maybe it was a one-off.

We had an amazing experience! My son flew off his electric skateboard and we knew through this pandemic we couldn't take him to the ER. We immediately got into the center and treated. Amanda (MA and Rad Tech) was so genuine with her care and did such a great job! Tiffany the NP was top notch! We've seen her before and always have a great experience! She spends time explaining things and getting to known us. She listens, she cares, she goes above and beyond! We had to have xrays and stitches and NextCare did all of it! Tiffany was absolutely amazing! The staff stayed until 8:30 pm with us and they never rushed us even though they were closed. Tiffany helped Amanda clean the room and they demonstrated teamwork! We wouldn't go anyplace else! We drove 45 minutes to come here versus the ER or the urgent care competition that is 15 minutes from us. The follow up phone call the next day to ensure our son was doing well was wonderful and very genuine! Thank you so much!!!

- Verified patient on 4/26

Unlike many Urgent Cares, the staff was...well....nice! The new front desk younger gal, Nikki, was so respectful and kind to not only us, but all of the patients that came in. If they didn’t have a Covid appointment, she handled it with great professionalism, AND helped them by giving specific information on places to try. The male Tech, Vince, actually said his name, what he did, and did a great job. The P.A., Nadine, popped her head in to let me know about how long the test would take, which I thought was a good effort (she was busy!) We got our rapid Covid tests in 15 minutes! Well done Allegiant-Phoenix!

- Verified patient on 12/26

I had such a pleasant experience at this urgent care on Camelback road. I honestly hate going to any doctor or urgent care, but I needed a Covid test because I was having symptoms. Everyone from the front desk staff, medical assistants, and the PA were wonderful. I really wish I knew the PAs name because I’d name her on this review. Everyone was so nice, thorough, professional and helpful. It was easy to register and to check out. It was a great experience and I would definitely come back…Thank you everyone for continuing to serve on the front lines during Covid 19 and putting your own health on the line to help all of us who are sick and in need of care. I wish you the best during the holidays and pray for continued good health…

Urgent care in Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix endured 113 consecutive days at or above 100°F in 2024 — the world's hottest major metro by sustained summer temperature — making extreme heat a defining context for urgent care access rather than a seasonal footnote. Most Solv-listed clinics across the Phoenix metro accept walk-ins and same-day online booking, with AHCCCS accepted at the majority of locations.

How does Phoenix's extreme heat shape urgent care demand?

No major US city concentrates heat-driven urgent care demand like Phoenix. In 2024, Maricopa County recorded 608 confirmed heat-related deaths — a figure that represented the first year-over-year decline since 2014, following 645 deaths in 2023. The county's heat surveillance data shows approximately 4,298 heat-related emergency department visits annually across the Phoenix metro, with 60% of fatalities among individuals aged 50 and older and 49% among people experiencing homelessness.

Phoenix's 113-day streak at or above 100°F in 2024 — running from May 27 through September 16 — means that heat illness risk is not isolated to heat waves or exceptional weather events. It is the baseline condition for five months of the year. Urgent care clinics across the metro are equipped for this reality: most Solv-listed Phoenix clinics offer IV hydration therapy, heat exhaustion treatment, and rapid cooling protocols as part of standard summer operations.

Arizona's Department of Health Services tracks heat-related illness across the state in real time during summer months. Heat-illness activity peaks in July and August, correlating with the highest overnight low temperatures when the urban heat island effect prevents the nighttime cooling that limits heat exposure in drier desert climates.

When is urgent care vs. the ER the right choice for heat illness in Phoenix?

Heat illness exists on a spectrum, and the distinction between urgent care and emergency care is critical in Phoenix's climate. Heat exhaustion — the condition appropriate for urgent care — presents with heavy sweating, weakness, cold or pale clammy skin, fast or weak pulse, nausea, headache, and muscle cramps. Most Solv-listed Phoenix clinics treat heat exhaustion with IV fluid replacement, electrolyte rebalancing, and cooling measures.

Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Symptoms include a body temperature above 103°F, hot and red skin that may be dry or damp, a rapid and strong pulse, and confusion, altered mental status, or loss of consciousness. If you or someone with you shows signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately and move the person to a cool environment while waiting for emergency services. Heat stroke requires emergency department care — do not drive to urgent care.

For residents monitoring conditions daily, Arizona DHS recommends seeking cooling and medical evaluation if you have been in temperatures above 105°F for more than an hour and begin feeling dizzy, confused, or stop sweating. Urgent care is the appropriate first stop for those early presentations. When in doubt, call ahead to the clinic before leaving your vehicle.

What services do urgent care clinics in Phoenix offer?

Urgent care clinics in Phoenix handle heat-related illness, acute illness, minor injury, occupational health, and on-site diagnostics. Three of the most widely listed networks on Solv across the Phoenix metro offer the following services.

Banner Urgent Care, operated by Banner Health — Arizona's largest health system — provides treatment for heat exhaustion and heat-related illness, flu and COVID-19 testing, acute illness visits, minor injury care, on-site X-ray and laboratory services, occupational health evaluations, and direct referral pathways into Banner's specialist network for conditions requiring follow-up care. Banner Urgent Care operates locations across Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert.

NextCare Urgent Care maintains an extensive network of locations across the Phoenix metro and provides flu, COVID-19, and strep testing; treatment of acute respiratory illness and minor injuries; sports and employment physicals; and pediatric urgent care. NextCare's Arizona presence is among the most geographically distributed of any urgent care chain in the state.

Concentra operates locations across Maricopa County with a focus on occupational health alongside general urgent care. Services include workers' compensation evaluations, drug and alcohol testing, DOT and employment physicals, treatment of work-related injuries, and general urgent care for illness and non-occupational conditions.

Additional providers in the Phoenix metro include AFC Urgent Care, FastMed, and Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care. Service availability varies by location — check individual clinic pages on Solv for location-specific details.

What insurance do urgent care clinics in Phoenix accept?

Most urgent care clinics in Phoenix accept major commercial insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Humana. Arizona's uninsured rate has declined significantly since the state expanded Medicaid, falling from 17.1% in 2013 to approximately 10% as of recent estimates. Cash-pay options remain available at most Solv-listed Phoenix clinics for patients without coverage.

AHCCCS — the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System — is Arizona's Medicaid program. Approximately 2.1 million Arizonans are covered by AHCCCS, and most Solv-listed urgent care clinics across the Phoenix metro accept it. Arizona's Medicaid expansion means that low-income adults without children may qualify for AHCCCS coverage, unlike in non-expansion states such as Texas. AHCCCS acceptance is indicated on individual clinic pages on Solv — confirm your plan before booking.

For uninsured patients, self-pay rates at Phoenix urgent care clinics are typically substantially lower than emergency department costs for non-emergency conditions. Confirming the self-pay rate with the clinic before your visit avoids unexpected billing.

How do I book urgent care in Phoenix on Solv?

Solv shows real-time appointment availability for urgent care clinics across the Phoenix metro. Filter by ZIP code or neighborhood — Central Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Glendale, Chandler — to find the closest available clinic. Book a same-day appointment in under two minutes, or walk in to most locations without a reservation.

During Phoenix's summer heat peak — May through September — booking ahead is particularly recommended. Heat-illness walk-in volume at clinics across the metro increases significantly on the hottest afternoons. Checking Solv's real-time availability before leaving your air-conditioned environment is both practical and safer during extreme heat conditions.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How hot is too hot — when should I go to urgent care for heat symptoms in Phoenix?

Seek urgent care for heat exhaustion symptoms: heavy sweating, weakness, pale or clammy skin, nausea, headache, and muscle cramps — especially after extended outdoor exposure above 105°F. Go to an emergency room for heat stroke: body temperature above 103°F, hot and red skin, rapid and strong pulse, confusion, or loss of consciousness. Heat stroke requires 911, not urgent care.
  • Does urgent care in Phoenix accept AHCCCS?

Yes. AHCCCS — Arizona's Medicaid program — is accepted at most urgent care clinics in the Phoenix metro. Approximately 2.1 million Arizonans are covered by AHCCCS, and Arizona's Medicaid expansion means low-income adults without children may qualify, unlike in non-expansion states. Check individual clinic pages on Solv to confirm AHCCCS acceptance at your nearest location.
  • Do urgent care clinics in Phoenix treat heat exhaustion?

Yes. Most Solv-listed urgent care clinics in Phoenix are equipped for heat-related illness, including IV hydration and electrolyte replacement for heat exhaustion. Banner Urgent Care and NextCare are among the largest networks in the Phoenix metro with locations distributed across the valley. For heat stroke — high fever, confusion, or altered mental status — call 911 immediately.
  • What insurance do urgent care clinics in Phoenix accept?

Most Solv-listed clinics in Phoenix accept major commercial plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Humana. AHCCCS (Arizona Medicaid) is accepted at most locations. Check individual clinic pages on Solv to confirm your specific plan before booking.
  • When should I go to an ER instead of urgent care in Phoenix?

Go to an emergency room for heat stroke, chest pain, difficulty breathing, suspected stroke, major trauma, or any condition where life or limb may be at risk. Urgent care handles heat exhaustion, flu, respiratory illness, minor injuries, COVID testing, UTIs, and other non-life-threatening conditions. For emergencies during Phoenix's summer heat, call 911 — do not drive yourself.
  • Are there urgent care centers open on weekends in Phoenix?

Yes. Most Solv-listed urgent care clinics in Phoenix offer weekend hours, with many open Saturday and Sunday. Same-day online booking through Solv shows real-time weekend availability. Checking availability before leaving is especially recommended during summer weekends, when heat-illness walk-in volume across the metro is highest.
  • Where can I get a DOT physical in Phoenix?

DOT physicals for commercial drivers are available at multiple urgent care and occupational health clinics throughout the Phoenix metro. These exams must be performed by a certified medical examiner registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Many clinics offer same-day or next-day appointments. Search for clinics offering DOT physicals in Phoenix on Solv.
