My son had soreness in his left. Live close to the Urgent Care so I went online to schedule an appt. The check in online was easy and smooth. When we got to the office we were greeted in the lobby. Waited maybe 5 min. Saw the doctor. She was great. He was diagnosed with an ear infection. I can’t say enough how pleased I was with the visit. I will definitely be coming again if needed. Thank you.

Just learned they preformed a pregnancy test on me without my knowledge or consent nor did they tell me the results of this test.  I was made aware on my insurance EOB from them billing my insurance company for it.  Absolutely unethical to be preforming tests without any knowledge or consent.

Wilmington Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active can get chlamydia, but the infection is more common in some groups. Women under 25 years of age, men who have sex with men, and individuals with multiple sexual partners or those who don’t use condoms regularly should get tested annually. It's also recommended for pregnant women to get tested, as chlamydia can cause complications during pregnancy and can be passed on to the baby during childbirth.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial as it often has no symptoms, leading to it being undiagnosed and untreated. This can result in serious health problems, including pelvic inflammatory disease in women and epididymitis in men, both of which can cause infertility. Moreover, chlamydia increases the risk of contracting other sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Early detection through testing allows for effective treatment, typically a course of antibiotics, which can prevent these complications.

Chlamydia testing options in Wilmington, DE:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics provide a convenient option for chlamydia testing in Wilmington. One such location is Carbon Health Urgent Care in nearby Newtown Square, PA, which has a high rating and is praised for its short wait times and friendly staff. You can book same-day and next-day appointments at these locations through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another good option for getting tested. They can provide a continuity of care and follow up on your test results. If you don't have a primary care provider, Solv can help you find one and book an appointment.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing. These centers are a valuable resource, especially for those without insurance or with limited financial means.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy or cannot attend a clinic. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available online within a few days.

Prevalence of chlamydia in Wilmington

Wilmington, located in Salem County, has seen a steady increase in chlamydia cases over the years, mirroring the national trend. According to the CDC, chlamydia is the most commonly reported STD in the United States, and Wilmington is no exception. The prevalence of chlamydia in Wilmington is higher than in nearby counties such as Berkshire and Sussex, but lower than the national average.

Risk factors related to chlamydia in Wilmington

The primary risk factors for chlamydia include being sexually active, having multiple sexual partners, not using condoms consistently, and being under 25 years old. Socioeconomic factors such as limited access to healthcare and lower education levels can also contribute to higher rates of chlamydia.

Other STDs in Wilmington

In addition to chlamydia, other STDs such as gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis are also prevalent in Wilmington. The rates of these infections are also higher than in nearby counties like Morris and Litchfield, and they have been increasing over time. Regular testing for all STDs is recommended for those at risk.
