So amazing these caring souls that work here! I came in last minute with my daughter and in the kerfuffle of illness and getting her there on time we forgot her ID. The appointment I had originally was at 6:30 and they close at 7. We didn’t get back there with the ID until 6:50. The angel at the front desk called me to see if I was still coming! They helped us thoroughly, thoughtfully and with incredible kindness. Thank you immensely.

Was able to make a fast easy appointment for next day online. But wait time in clinic was very long even though I did have an appointment. I think AME should do reminder messages of appointments or when patient needs testing as well.

I was going in for a routine drug test for my job. There seemed to be very few people there  and I was shown that there were 0 people ahead of me for the test. I continued to wait in the lobby for about 10 min and nobody said anything to me about my wait time other than they will be with me shortly. Both staff members seemed very short with me and the person doing my urine test was rude and impatient with me when I was wrapping up with a text message. She didn’t even flush the toilet from the previous person using it and didn’t apologize for having me enter a bathroom with a used toilet. There was some kind of issue with the ceiling and water leaking everywhere so maybe that’s why the staff was grumpy but that should not be an excuse.

I’m not happy that no one told me the medication Paxlovid would cost me $600 unless I had a coupon in which case it would cost me $25

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is at risk of contracting hepatitis should get tested. This includes individuals who have been in close contact with someone who has hepatitis, people who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis, and those who engage in high-risk behaviors such as unprotected sex or drug use. According to the CDC, it's also crucial for healthcare workers and those with chronic liver disease to get tested due to their increased risk of exposure.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is vital for several reasons. First, it allows for early detection, which can significantly improve treatment outcomes. Second, it helps prevent the spread of the disease to others. Lastly, it can provide peace of mind for those who may be at risk. According to the CDC, early detection and treatment of hepatitis can reduce the risk of liver disease and other complications.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another excellent resource for hepatitis testing. They can provide comprehensive testing and follow-up care. It's worth noting that appointments may need to be scheduled in advance.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited resources, free STD testing and community health centers offer an affordable option. These centers provide essential healthcare services, including hepatitis testing, to the community.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits allow individuals to collect a sample at home and send it to a lab for testing. This can be a convenient and private option for many.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Garden Grove

While specific data for Garden Grove is not readily available, Orange County, where Garden Grove is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the past few years, according to the CDC. This trend mirrors the national trend, which has also seen an increase in hepatitis cases.
