Everything was good except the wait time. Took about 50 minutes to be seen and I was sent to this location since the usual one was out of service at the time. I had an appointment and usually it’s quick, but not this time.

Once we were seen, things were fine. However, we scheduled an appointment, got there shortly before the appointment time, and had to wait an hour and a half before we were called back. Then once we were called back, we had to wait another 45 minutes before we were seen by the doctor.  This doesn’t seem like there’s a good reason to schedule an appointment when you’re not seen until an hour and a half after your appointment time.  We have used this facility before and had to wait maybe 30 minutes, but this was really ridiculous and extremely frustrating!  In addition, I have called back several times to try to get the results of what the radiologist has said about the x-ray but because there is no one answering the phone and it is all automated there is no way to get these results unless I drive there.  There needs to be a way to contact a human being when calling. Again very very frustrating.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Hepatitis is a serious condition that affects the liver. It's recommended that anyone who has been exposed to the virus, or is at risk of exposure, should get tested. This includes individuals who are sexually active, particularly with multiple partners, those who have used intravenous drugs, people with HIV, and those who have traveled to regions with high rates of hepatitis. In Arlington, TX, and surrounding areas like South Arlington, Pantego, and Grand Prairie, it's crucial to be aware of your risk and consider getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is important for several reasons. According to the CDC, early detection can lead to better health outcomes as it allows for prompt treatment, potentially preventing liver damage. Additionally, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of the virus to others. In Tarrant County, where Arlington is located, and neighboring counties like Hill County and McCulloch County, testing can play a significant role in controlling the spread of hepatitis.

Hepatitis testing options in Arlington, TX:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are excellent options for hepatitis testing. These facilities often offer same-day appointments, making it convenient for those with busy schedules. One such location in Arlington is Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent, which is highly rated and known for its short wait time and friendly staff.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another reliable option for hepatitis testing. They can provide comprehensive care, including testing and treatment for hepatitis. Make You Well Family Practice & Aesthetics in nearby Colleyville is a highly rated primary care provider.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Free STD testing and community health centers can provide accessible and affordable hepatitis testing. These centers are vital resources for individuals who may not have insurance or who are underinsured.

At-home testing

At-home testing is another option for those who prefer privacy and convenience. These tests can be ordered online and completed in the comfort of your own home, with results typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Arlington

While specific data for Arlington is not readily available, the CDC reports that hepatitis, particularly Hepatitis C, is a significant health concern in Texas. Comparatively, the prevalence of hepatitis in Tarrant County, where Arlington is located, is similar to the national average but slightly higher than some surrounding counties like De Soto Parish and Bossier Parish.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Arlington

Several risk factors contribute to the prevalence of hepatitis in Arlington. These include a high rate of intravenous drug use, unprotected sex, and a large population of individuals with HIV. These factors are similar to those found in nearby cities like Hurst and Grand Prairie.

Other STDs in Arlington

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Arlington. According to the CDC, the rates of these STDs are comparable to the national average but slightly higher than some nearby counties. It's crucial to get tested for these STDs if you're at risk, and you can book same-day and next-day testing appointments at urgent care centers and medical laboratories through Solv’s website and mobile app.
