The wait time was a bit long and when I tried to schedule an appointment online it wasn’t working. So I walked in. Besides the long wait time everyone was nice and patient and the PA who saw me, Francis, was wonderful.

Lexi was AMAZING! SUCH A KIND and sweet soul! She made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I had a really bad experience at the AFC on Colfax (stay away from there). I called her and she told me to come right in! This is the service one would expect at a medical facility. Thank you so much for helping me get my Covid test quickly! I so appreciate your kindness, it really helped turn my day around! Thank you!!!!

Tuesday was told the provider wasn’t in and I could come in and do telehealth or online visit. Decided to wait until next day; scheduled an appointment for 11:30 and don’t think I was seen until 12:30. Assistant took my vitals and then waited quite sometime before seeing NP.  Besides being there for 2 hours for strep test, everyone was friendly and kind. I think there just happened to be a lot of people when I decided to go.

Overview of STD Testing in Frederick

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or are not consistently using protection. According to the CDC, certain groups are at a higher risk and should get tested regularly. These include sexually active women under 25, men who have sex with men, and individuals with HIV. Pregnant women should also get tested for STDs to prevent potential transmission to their baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs do not show symptoms, so you could be infected and not know it. Secondly, early detection and treatment can prevent serious health complications such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Lastly, knowing your status can help protect your sexual partners from getting infected.
