Grandson needed an EKG, suggested by his doctor at Children's Hospital in Aurora, so we stopped by to have it done. My phone was zero percent charged, so we were walk-ins. It took maybe 10-12 minutes to be seen by the nursing staff. She was great to Bryan and then the Nurse Practitioner came in and was just as great to my grandson, while providing the necessary care.

Overview of STD Testing in Longmont

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially those with multiple sexual partners or those who have had unprotected sex. According to the CDC, certain groups are at a higher risk, including young people aged 15-24, gay and bisexual men, and pregnant women. It's critical to remember that STDs often have no symptoms, so regular testing is the only way to know for sure if you have one.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs can have serious health consequences if left untreated, including infertility, organ damage, certain types of cancer, and in severe cases, death. Secondly, knowing your STD status can help prevent the spread of these diseases to others. Lastly, early detection often leads to simpler and more effective treatment options.

Risk factors related to STDs in Longmont

Several risk factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Longmont. These include a lack of regular testing, unprotected sex, and having multiple sexual partners.
