The check in computer machines were too complicated for Senior Citizens and individuals who are not computer savvy.  We had to use several check in machines to check in. The receptionist had to use two machines before she could check us in. Staff was very nice.

Returning from a drive from Florida, with a raging sore throat. Easy scheduling an appointment for the next morning. I was seen within a few minutes, test for flu, strep and Covid, came up positive for Covid. We quickly arranged for medication prescription and off I went. I will say, time and time again, this is my go to place for any kind of testing. I never have to wait, I usually schedule a day or two before and am often seen early due to no one being there. Staff and providers are super friendly, helpful, and extremely quick with what they need to do which allows for less time waiting in the exam rooms. Testing is also extremely fast, I have gotten tests before and then have heard back a day later. Will recommend to anyone looking for quick access to medical care.

Getting Tested for STDs in Rahway, NJ

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or are not consistently using barrier methods of protection, such as condoms. This is particularly important for those between the ages of 15 and 24, who account for half of all new STD cases each year, according to the CDC. It's also crucial for pregnant women to get tested, as STDs can have serious health consequences for both the mother and baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a vital part of maintaining your overall health. Many STDs often present no symptoms, meaning you could be infected and unknowingly spreading the disease to others. Early detection through testing can prevent serious health complications, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing also helps to control the spread of these diseases in the community.

STD testing options in Rahway, NJ:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for STD testing. They can provide comprehensive care, including testing, treatment, and follow-up. If you have a regular doctor, they can also provide context for your results based on your overall health history.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited income, free STD testing may be available at community health centers. It's important to check with each center for their specific requirements and availability.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy or cannot easily access a clinic. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent to a lab for analysis. Results are usually available within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Rahway

Rahway, located in Middlesex County, NJ, has seen a steady increase in STD rates over the past decade, mirroring national trends. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Risk factors related to STDs in Rahway

Several factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Rahway.
