Booked online, waited about 10 mins. Got seen, they were worried that I needed more care so they sent me to a specialist. I thought that was an amazing way to show me that they care about my well-being.

Thank you to the provider and the MA upfront who helped us today, they were very friendly and compassionate. I’m sorry I didn’t get your names, but there was another young lady up front who wouldn’t even acknowledge me and seemed to be upset because we did come in 1 hour before closing, I can understand how it could be frustrating but I also work at a urgent care and I would never be rude or simply not acknowledge a patient coming in wanting care for their child.  luckily the other MA upfront also noticed she wouldn’t acknowledge me and made sure she heard me which she did she just seemed upset or is having a bad day and choose to purposely ignore me. Besides that it was quick and easy to schedule and get in to be seen  Thank you

What services do urgent care clinics in Italy offer?

Italy is served by Baylor Scott & White Health and Methodist Health System, both of which operate walk-in clinics and emergency centers in Waxahachie, Midlothian, and southern Dallas County.2 Typical services include treatment for flu, strep throat, UTIs, ear infections, lacerations, sprains, and minor fractures, with on-site x-ray and lab at most locations. Clinics in the area also offer DOT physicals, sports physicals, and occupational health services. Pediatric care is widely available, and most clinics see children 6 months and older. Does urgent care in Italy accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Yes. STAR is the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services, and most Italy-area urgent care clinics accept it.1 According to KFF, roughly 21% of Texans are enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP, with managed care plans like STAR covering the majority of low-income adults and children.3 Specific MCO acceptance — Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan — varies by clinic. Confirm your plan and any required copay with each clinic before your visit. Most Italy urgent care clinics also accept CHIP for children's coverage.

How does Italy urgent care relate to Dallas?

Italy is a small Ellis County town along I-35E, about 45 miles south of downtown Dallas. The city's economy is rooted in agriculture, a long-running cement industry, and increasing distribution activity along the I-35 corridor. Healthcare access for Italy residents typically means a short drive north to Waxahachie or Midlothian for urgent care, primary care, and emergency services. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Italy population is approximately 1,800 and has remained stable over the past decade.4 The local economy is anchored by agriculture, cement manufacturing, and I-35 logistics. For specialty care, advanced imaging, or trauma, residents typically travel north to Waxahachie or into south Dallas, where larger hospital systems anchor urgent care in Dallas.
