It’s after my appt. I’m waiting for my sons prescription since his ear hurts and cvs pharmacy says they still have not received prescription from doctor. Before leaving, I even asked the doctor if the antibiotic would be sent to the pharmacy and she said yes. This is something serious. The whole point of me making the appt is so he wouldn’t be in pain tonight or tomorrow morning. And now I have to work tomorrow. I can’t pick up his med until after work. I’m so so mad. Why didn’t yall send the prescription to the pharmacy?

Booked online, waited about 10 mins. Got seen, they were worried that I needed more care so they sent me to a specialist. I thought that was an amazing way to show me that they care about my well-being.

Urgent care
We waited an hour for our appointment all because the front desk person was not there. I totally understand that billing needs to be accounted for before a patient is seen, however, they always send a payment link via text anyway so I’m not sure why a person sitting 3 feet away needed to send me that text. Ultimately, that is how they resolved the problem — a receptionist from another clinic called me to collect payment. I appreciate that you can’t plan for everything and they needed to adapt, but wish the adaptation had happened sooner. This can’t have been the first time that someone called in sick to work unexpectedly.

Urgent care in Maypearl, TX

Maypearl is a small Ellis County community along US-67 southwest of Waxahachie, with urgent care needs routed primarily to nearby Waxahachie and Midlothian. Book a walk-in slot near you or in urgent care in Dallas in under a minute.

What services do urgent care clinics in Maypearl offer?

Maypearl residents typically use urgent care clinics in Waxahachie and Midlothian for routine acute care — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations, minor injuries — plus DOT and sports physicals and on-site labs and X-ray. Baylor Scott & White anchors Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, with broader specialty options through the Methodist and Texas Health Resources networks in the Dallas metro.2

Does urgent care in Maypearl accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Maypearl area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Texas has not expanded Medicaid, leaving working-age adults above STAR thresholds without coverage — KFF tracks Texas as the highest uninsured-rate state in the U.S.3 In rural Ellis County, in-network options are more limited; call ahead to confirm STAR plan acceptance.

How does Maypearl urgent care relate to Dallas?

Maypearl has roughly 1,000 residents and sits about 45 miles south of downtown Dallas along US-67 in rural Ellis County.4 The economy is rooted in agriculture and small-business, with growing influence from the broader DFW exurban housing boom. Specialty and higher-acuity care typically routes through Baylor Scott & White Waxahachie or further into urgent care in Dallas.

Urgent Care Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there urgent care clinics in Maypearl?

Yes. Maypearl, TX has walk-in urgent care available either directly in town or within a short drive in adjacent communities. Most clinics offer same-day visits for common illnesses and minor injuries, with on-site labs and X-ray where needed. Use Solv to see real-time availability and book a slot before you walk in.
  • Does urgent care in Maypearl accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Maypearl area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services. STAR is delivered through several managed care organizations (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, United, etc.), so confirm with the specific clinic which MCOs they contract with before booking. Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so working-age adults outside the standard STAR eligibility criteria typically do not qualify.
  • What insurance do urgent care centers in Maypearl accept?

Most Maypearl-area urgent care clinics accept commercial insurance plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana), Medicare, and TRICARE for active-duty military and veterans. Many also accept STAR (Texas Medicaid). Cash-pay and self-pay options are widely available — average urgent care visit costs run $100-$250 depending on services. Confirm your specific plan and copay with the clinic before booking.
  • Should I go to urgent care or the ER in Maypearl?

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations needing stitches, minor burns, ear infections, mild asthma flares — usually for a fraction of an ER bill and with shorter waits. Go to the ER (or call 911) for chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion, or any condition that feels life-threatening. The nearest hospital ER for Maypearl residents is Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie.
  • Where do Maypearl families go for pediatric care or sports physicals?

Maypearl families typically use pediatric urgent care or family medicine clinics in nearby Waxahachie or Midlothian for routine pediatric visits and Maypearl ISD sports physicals. Several Waxahachie urgent care clinics offer pediatric-trained providers and same-day sports physical appointments during back-to-school season.
