It’s after my appt. I’m waiting for my sons prescription since his ear hurts and cvs pharmacy says they still have not received prescription from doctor. Before leaving, I even asked the doctor if the antibiotic would be sent to the pharmacy and she said yes. This is something serious. The whole point of me making the appt is so he wouldn’t be in pain tonight or tomorrow morning. And now I have to work tomorrow. I can’t pick up his med until after work. I’m so so mad. Why didn’t yall send the prescription to the pharmacy?

Booked online, waited about 10 mins. Got seen, they were worried that I needed more care so they sent me to a specialist. I thought that was an amazing way to show me that they care about my well-being.

We waited an hour for our appointment all because the front desk person was not there. I totally understand that billing needs to be accounted for before a patient is seen, however, they always send a payment link via text anyway so I’m not sure why a person sitting 3 feet away needed to send me that text. Ultimately, that is how they resolved the problem — a receptionist from another clinic called me to collect payment. I appreciate that you can’t plan for everything and they needed to adapt, but wish the adaptation had happened sooner. This can’t have been the first time that someone called in sick to work unexpectedly.

Urgent care in Venus, TX

Venus is a growing bedroom community in Johnson County, about 30 miles south of Fort Worth along U.S. Highway 67. The city sits in the fast-expanding southern DFW exurban corridor where residential growth has outpaced local medical infrastructure — making walk-in clinics in nearby Midlothian, Mansfield, and Burleson the practical first stop for non-emergency care. For the full range of DFW urgent care options, residents also access urgent care in Dallas.

What services do urgent care clinics near Venus offer?

Clinics in the Venus–Midlothian corridor treat common conditions including respiratory infections, strep, flu, UTIs, lacerations, sprains, and pediatric illness. Baylor Scott & White operates facilities throughout Ellis and Johnson counties, including the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – White Settlement and outpatient clinics in Midlothian.2 Texas Health Resources also serves the Mansfield and Burleson communities within a reasonable drive of Venus, providing additional walk-in options.

Does urgent care near Venus accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Yes. Clinics serving Johnson County accept STAR, Texas's Medicaid managed care program, administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Managed care organizations in this region include Molina Healthcare, Aetna Better Health, and Community First Health Plans. Because Venus sits in Johnson County, residents should confirm their MCO covers clinics in that specific county or adjacent Ellis and Tarrant counties.3

How does Venus relate to the broader Dallas–Fort Worth urgent care market?

Venus has a population of approximately 5,120, per U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts, and is among the rapidly growing Johnson County communities absorbing DFW residential spillover.4 With no hospital within city limits, residents rely on urgent care clinics and emergency facilities in Midlothian (Baylor Scott & White), Mansfield (Texas Health Resources), and Burleson (Cook Children's / AdventHealth). Commuters working in Fort Worth or Dallas often stop at clinics along the US-67 or US-287 corridors on their way home. For major medical needs, urgent care in Dallas and Fort Worth remain the regional anchors.
