Urgent care
Scheduling and check-in was super easy as I did it from the Solv app.  The staff was patient and sweet to my 2 toddlers who were both sick and rambunctious. The provider answered all my questions and even gave me tips on things to and not to feed them during their sickness to help with their congestion and diarrhea.

Urgent care
My father had a pain in his side that made him groan every couple of minutes. His doctor’s office was closed, so we needed an urgent care clinic that accepted Medicare. Found CityDoc, scheduled online for that afternoon, and completed all the paperwork online. It was easy, and check-in was easy and smooth. Everyone at the clinic was very nice, and the doctor was very nice  and quite thorough. I would definitely recommend this provider and this clinic. *The day after our visit, my father reported his pain was getting worse. We went to the emergency room for painkillers, and they recommended a CT scan, which showed two broken ribs. CityDoc had x-rayed his rib(s) and told us no fractures were seen. So maybe not such a strong recommendation to CityDoc although everyone was very nice.

Urgent care in Red Oak, TX

Red Oak sits in northern Ellis County along I-35E, roughly 20 miles south of downtown Dallas. Urgent care needs are largely served by clinics along the I-35E corridor and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie. Book a same-day visit locally or in urgent care in Dallas in under a minute.

What services do urgent care clinics in Red Oak offer?

Red Oak urgent care clinics handle the standard load — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations, minor burns, ear infections — plus DOT physicals, sports physicals for Red Oak ISD, and on-site labs and X-ray. Baylor Scott & White and Methodist Health System operate urgent care and ER-affiliated walk-ins along the I-35E corridor between Red Oak and southern Dallas, with Texas Health Resources and HCA/CareNow nearby.2

Does urgent care in Red Oak accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most Red Oak urgent care clinics accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Because Texas has not expanded Medicaid, eligibility is largely limited to children, pregnant women, and very low-income families — KFF tracks Texas as the highest uninsured-rate state in the country.3 STAR is delivered through multiple managed care organizations, so confirm your plan with the clinic before booking.

How does Red Oak urgent care relate to Dallas?

Red Oak has grown from roughly 10,800 residents in 2010 to nearly 15,000 today, expanding along the I-35E corridor as the southern DFW exurbs absorb growth.4 It sits about 20 miles south of downtown Dallas, with most residents commuting into Dallas, Lancaster, or DeSoto. Higher-acuity care typically escalates north into urgent care in Dallas.

  • Does urgent care in Red Oak accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Red Oak area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services. STAR is delivered through several managed care organizations (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, United, etc.), so confirm with the specific clinic which MCOs they contract with before booking. Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so working-age adults outside the standard STAR eligibility criteria typically do not qualify.

Many also accept STAR (Texas Medicaid). Cash-pay and self-pay options are widely available — average urgent care visit costs run $100-$250 depending on services. Confirm your specific plan and copay with the clinic before booking.
  • Should I go to urgent care or the ER in Red Oak?

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations needing stitches, minor burns, ear infections, mild asthma flares — usually for a fraction of an ER bill and with shorter waits. Go to the ER (or call 911) for chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion, or any condition that feels life-threatening. The nearest hospital ER for Red Oak residents is Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie.
  • Are urgent care clinics in Red Oak open evenings and weekends?

Most Red Oak-area urgent care clinics are open seven days a week, with weekday evening hours typically running until 8 or 9 PM and weekend hours through the early evening. For overnight or 24-hour needs, the nearest options are emergency rooms at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie or hospitals in southern Dallas County — book online to see real-time availability before driving in.
