Scheduling and check-in was super easy as I did it from the Solv app.  The staff was patient and sweet to my 2 toddlers who were both sick and rambunctious. The provider answered all my questions and even gave me tips on things to and not to feed them during their sickness to help with their congestion and diarrhea.

Urgent care
My father had a pain in his side that made him groan every couple of minutes. His doctor’s office was closed, so we needed an urgent care clinic that accepted Medicare. Found CityDoc, scheduled online for that afternoon, and completed all the paperwork online. It was easy, and check-in was easy and smooth. Everyone at the clinic was very nice, and the doctor was very nice  and quite thorough. I would definitely recommend this provider and this clinic. *The day after our visit, my father reported his pain was getting worse. We went to the emergency room for painkillers, and they recommended a CT scan, which showed two broken ribs. CityDoc had x-rayed his rib(s) and told us no fractures were seen. So maybe not such a strong recommendation to CityDoc although everyone was very nice.

Urgent care in Lancaster, TX

Lancaster sits in southern Dallas County along the I-35E corridor, putting most residents within a short drive of walk-in urgent care for common illnesses, injuries, and physicals. Book a same-day visit at urgent care in Dallas or a Lancaster-area clinic in under a minute.

What services do urgent care clinics in Lancaster offer?

Lancaster urgent care clinics treat the bread-and-butter of walk-in medicine — strep, flu, UTIs, sprains, lacerations, minor burns, and pediatric fevers — plus DOT physicals, sports physicals, occupational injury care, and basic on-site labs and X-ray. Methodist Health System operates the regional Methodist Charlton Medical Center hub and affiliated MedCare locations across southern Dallas County, and Baylor Scott & White and Texas Health Resources both maintain urgent care or ER-adjacent locations within a 15-minute drive.2

Does urgent care in Lancaster accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most Lancaster urgent care clinics accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services for low-income families, pregnant women, and children.1 Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, which leaves a large coverage gap for working-age adults — KFF estimates roughly 1 in 6 Texans is uninsured, the highest rate in the country.3 Before your visit, confirm directly with the clinic which STAR managed care plans they contract with (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, etc.).

How does Lancaster urgent care relate to Dallas?

Lancaster has roughly 41,275 residents and sits about 15 miles south of downtown Dallas, making it one of the more affordable Dallas County suburbs.4 Most residents work or commute into Dallas, and the city's urgent care options are tied into the same Methodist Health System and Baylor Scott & White networks that serve the broader southern Dallas market — meaning records, referrals, and specialist follow-up can flow seamlessly back into urgent care in Dallas if escalated care is needed.

Urgent Care Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there urgent care clinics in Lancaster?

Yes. Lancaster, TX has walk-in urgent care available either directly in town or within a short drive in adjacent communities. Most clinics offer same-day visits for common illnesses and minor injuries, with on-site labs and X-ray where needed. Use Solv to see real-time availability and book a slot before you walk in.
  • Does urgent care in Lancaster accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Lancaster area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services. STAR is delivered through several managed care organizations (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, United, etc.), so confirm with the specific clinic which MCOs they contract with before booking. Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so working-age adults outside the standard STAR eligibility criteria typically do not qualify.
  • What insurance do urgent care centers in Lancaster accept?

Most Lancaster-area urgent care clinics accept commercial insurance plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana), Medicare, and TRICARE for active-duty military and veterans. Many also accept STAR (Texas Medicaid). Cash-pay and self-pay options are widely available — average urgent care visit costs run $100-$250 depending on services. Confirm your specific plan and copay with the clinic before booking.
  • Should I go to urgent care or the ER in Lancaster?

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations needing stitches, minor burns, ear infections, mild asthma flares — usually for a fraction of an ER bill and with shorter waits. Go to the ER (or call 911) for chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion, or any condition that feels life-threatening. The nearest hospital ER for Lancaster residents is Methodist Charlton Medical Center.
  • Can urgent care in Lancaster handle work injuries and DOT physicals?

Yes. Most Lancaster-area urgent care clinics offer occupational health services including DOT physicals, drug screens, and workers' comp injury evaluations — useful for the warehousing, logistics, and trucking employers concentrated along I-35E and I-20. Call ahead to confirm the clinic is contracted with your employer's workers' comp network before walking in.
