Except for the FREEZING ๐Ÿฅถ TEMPERATURE of the entire place, the people & provider were great. The wait was pretty long tooโ€ฆ but I understand there was only one provider that day even though there was only 2 people before me.

I called on Saturday to move my appointment time and was forwarded to a voicemail box where I asked for a return call. ย I received a text message saying someone would call me back right away but that call never came. ย I then received an auto notice where I was asked to confirm or cancel my appointment so I just ended up cancelling it. ย But these follow on notices continued. ย If I am charged for a no show fee I will be raising an issue.

I needed to have an X-ray and was directed to 5 facilities where I could have it done. Because of an impending major storm, I decided not to choose one of the 5 facilities to have it done today. Therefore, after an office visit, where I thought an X-ray could be taken, I still have not been diagnosed.

Didnโ€™t make an appointment but it was smooth and simple to get in line and take care of paperwork. Very good experience that I can simply walk in and get answers while also feeling terribly sick.

About Celiac (Gluten) Disease Testing Panel

The Celiac Disease Testing Panel is a set of diagnostic tests used to identify Celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten. This panel helps healthcare providers assess the presence of specific antibodies associated with Celiac disease and aids in confirming the diagnosis.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Yorktown Heights, New York, and have symptoms suggestive of Celiac disease, such as chronic gastrointestinal issues, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, or skin rashes, Celiac Disease Testing Panel is recommended. Additionally, individuals with a family history of Celiac disease or other autoimmune disorders may benefit from this testing to rule out or confirm the condition.

Tests Included in Celiac Disease Testing Panel

The Celiac Disease Testing Panel typically includes the following tests:

  1. Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody (tTG-IgA): Measures the presence of antibodies produced in response to gluten ingestion.
  2. Endomysial Antibody (EMA-IgA): Detects antibodies directed against the body's own tissues affected by gluten ingestion.
  3. Total Serum IgA: Measures the overall level of immunoglobulin A (IgA) in the blood, which helps ensure accurate antibody test results.

Interpreting the Results

If the Celiac Disease Testing Panel shows elevated levels of tTG-IgA and EMA-IgA antibodies and normal total serum IgA, it indicates a high likelihood of Celiac disease. A positive result may lead to further evaluation, including an endoscopic biopsy of the small intestine to confirm the diagnosis.

Following the Test

If the Celiac Disease Testing Panel confirms Celiac disease, your healthcare provider will discuss dietary modifications to eliminate gluten from your diet. Gluten-free diets are essential for managing Celiac disease and preventing complications related to gluten consumption.

Early detection and proper management of Celiac disease through the Celiac Disease Testing Panel can lead to improved quality of life and prevent long-term health issues associated with gluten ingestion.
