First would like to say like to everyone working the day I came in. Had a bad fall and had to have stitches removed. Place was very nice and clean got an appointment right when I needed it. The receptionist was kind and helpful. The doctor and the pa on site were very friendly, kind and considerate of all my needs. I also had to have X-rays done to check something I didnโ€™t feel when I fell a week before. With no problem they were also done and thankfully all was ok. I definitely will go back the next time for either me or a family or friends. ย Ty so much Nicole

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone can contract hepatitis, but certain groups are at a higher risk. These include individuals who have been in close contact with someone infected with hepatitis, those who have engaged in unprotected sex, people who have used intravenous drugs, and healthcare workers who may have been exposed to infected blood. If you fall into any of these categories, it's crucial to get tested. It's also important to note that hepatitis can often be asymptomatic, meaning you could be infected and not know it, further emphasizing the importance of testing.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is vital for several reasons. Firstly, it allows for early detection and treatment, which can prevent the disease from progressing to more severe stages that can lead to liver damage or cancer. Secondly, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of the disease to others. Lastly, some forms of hepatitis can be prevented with vaccination, so knowing your status can help you take preventive measures if necessary.

According to the CDC, the number of reported hepatitis cases in Somerset County, where Franklin Park is located, has been relatively stable over the past few years. However, it's important to note that many cases of hepatitis go unreported due to the disease often being asymptomatic.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Franklin Park

Risk factors for hepatitis in Franklin Park are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, intravenous drug use, and close contact with an infected person. Certain occupations, such as healthcare work, also pose a higher risk.

Other STDs in Franklin Park

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also present in Franklin Park. It's important to get tested for these diseases as well, as they can often occur concurrently with hepatitis. You can get tested for these STDs at the same locations mentioned above.
