Walked in and was taken care of fairly quickly. There were a couple people in front of me. Staff were friendly and professional and was diagnosed quickly. I appreciate places like this for this reason. Thanks.

Staff was good but they were not able to provide me with any real assistance/care since the office is not equipped with the  tools for required detailed eye exam. Thus, no real help was provided but the charge of $160 was still applied.

Everyone was wonderful on my visit.  The only negative thing I would say was the check in process.  You enter your information on an iPad then a paper form then you get a text message to enter the same information.  And I was a repeat customer.

I had a low grade fever and fatigue over the weekend and walked in on Monday. Waited maybe 5 minutes. Staff was attentive, ran some tests, did a chest x-ray and concluded I had some viral infection. Wrote me an Rx for conjunctivitis, but just told me to rest and drink plenty of fluids, take Ibuprofen every 4 hours, which I have been doing. As of Wednesday morning I still have the chills and fever, so I wish they would have given me a Z pack. I will see how today goes but may need to come back.

I hate doctors!!!  But this was the best experience ever.  Major infection from poison ivy and an insane and painful full body rash.  The staff and Dr. were great and exceeded my expectations.  I got information and the meds needed to recover (soon hopefully). Also picked up some referrals. A big thank you to this Doc and his crew.  Five Stars!

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), anyone who has been exposed to blood or body fluids from an infected person should get tested for hepatitis. This includes individuals who have shared needles or other drug-injection equipment, those who have had unprotected sex with an infected person, and healthcare workers who have been exposed to infected blood. Additionally, people born between 1945 and 1965, often referred to as baby boomers, are five times more likely to have hepatitis C and should also be tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of severe liver damage and complications like cirrhosis and liver cancer. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis don't experience symptoms until significant liver damage has occurred, making regular testing essential for those at risk.

Hepatitis testing options in Norristown, PA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also conduct hepatitis testing. Regular check-ups with a primary care provider can include routine screenings for hepatitis, especially for patients at risk.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers and free STD testing clinics provide accessible testing options for individuals with limited resources. These centers often offer walk-in services, making it convenient for those who may not have the ability to book an appointment in advance.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits offer privacy and convenience. These kits can be ordered online and used in the comfort of one's home, with results typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Norristown

Norristown, located in Montgomery County, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the years. While the exact number of cases fluctuates yearly, the trend mirrors the national increase in hepatitis cases. Comparatively, Montgomery County's hepatitis prevalence is higher than nearby counties such as Hampden County and Berkshire County.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Norristown

Risk factors for hepatitis in Norristown include intravenous drug use, unprotected sex, and lack of vaccination. The city's proximity to major urban centers also contributes to the prevalence of hepatitis, as these areas often have higher rates of STDs, including hepatitis.

Other STDs in Norristown

In addition to hepatitis, Norristown has seen cases of other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis. Regular testing for all STDs is recommended for sexually active individuals and those with risk factors. Like hepatitis, these STDs can often be asymptomatic, making regular testing crucial for early detection and treatment.
