Urgent care
When checking in at the Texas MedClinic waiting time was lengthy, but once we were called to the back. The Medical Assistant was absolutely very Thorough has a excellent personality I would like if Esther skills were passed on to the intire team. The Doctor also was very thorough and explaining over the treatment and follow up. I diffently would recommend this facility. Just make sure and register online before arriving so it can cut down on the waiting time.

Castroville is a small Medina County town along US-90 west of San Antonio, locally known as the "Little Alsace of Texas." Local urgent care is limited; residents typically route to clinics in Hondo or west San Antonio. Compare same-day options across urgent care in San Antonio.

What services do urgent care clinics in Castroville offer?

Urgent care clinics serving Castroville, TX handle respiratory illness, minor injuries, sports and school physicals, lacerations, and routine pediatric care. Methodist Healthcare operates Westover Hills facilities just east of Castroville, and Medina Healthcare System operates the closest hospital network in Hondo.2

Most Castroville urgent care clinics offer same-day online booking, on-site X-ray for sprains and possible fractures, and basic in-house labs (rapid strep, flu, COVID, urine, glucose). Walk-in volume is typically highest on weekday evenings and weekends; booking online and arriving with insurance card and photo ID in hand is the fastest path through the door. Many clinics also offer telehealth for follow-up visits and medication refills.

For uninsured patients in Castroville, most urgent care clinics publish self-pay rates online — typical visits run between $125 and $250 depending on labs, X-ray, and procedures performed. Patients without STAR Medicaid coverage but who may qualify can apply through YourTexasBenefits.com or Texas Health and Human Services. Federally Qualified Health Centers in the broader region also offer sliding-scale primary care for non-emergency needs.
