Came in 4 mins late but staff checked me in immediately. I am fortunate there was no line eventhough I had an appointment.  Staff were very professional and friendly.  The medical assistant and doctor were caring, also moving fast.  i was out in 30 minutes.  Thank you!

I am from out of state visiting in the area. I chose this facility from reading the reviews and roughly knew the area of the location. I made an online appointment. From the moment I walked into the facility, being seen and treated, I have nothing but praise and respect for the staff as well as the care I received. I’m this day and age and just visiting with having an unfortunate reason to be seen/treated I was completely satisfied. A little more pricey than I expected but what can I say? Thank you just the same for your professionalism.

I was from out of town and was able to get a same day appointment without issue. I only waited about 5 minutes after arriving and all the staff, nurse and doctor were kind and very helpful. My prescriptions were send to the correct location and ready for pick up in an hour. Overall excellent experience. Would definitely recommend.

Beth was fantastic, she was thorough, answered all my questions and had great tips too! I would definitely come here again for my son’s health. However, I was speechless with how the medical assistant roughly administered medicine to my infant son. The medical assistant grabbed my son’s face, squeezed it, and squirted antibiotics into him mouth and with the last pump, they squirted it all in even though it was getting to the point of overflowing out of his mouth. Once I held him upright, he immediately spit it back out. I’m not a medical professional, so I can’t say whether this is standard of care, but I was concerned by their handling of him.

Waited over 30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. Staff was friendly all around but some seemed very new and inexperienced, and instructions were unclear sometimes. Gave me a preliminary diagnosis but only told me my final diagnosis as I was literally walking out. Never followed up or shared anything formal with next steps with this updated diagnosis. Appreciated the upfront pricing, though and they were nice.

The online scheduling was easy with the time slot availability shown. The hour is great, open later than others in the area, avoided going to ER. I arrived & check-in was smooth & no wait. Aria looked over my wound & stitch up the cut, & the support staff was friendly & professional. I barely felt it during the process, & she periodically reminded me if too painful, she can numb more. Great facility!

My experience was fine in office but the billing department has inaccurately billed me for equipment and reaching the billing department to make corrections has been terrible. They do not answer their phone and you are placed on hold and nobody answers. The billing error was significant.

Melanie went out of her way to accommodate my husband and me when we came in to get Covid tests. Due to our unforeseen scheduling error, we didn't have an appointment at that time, but she said we could wait in case she could fit us in between patients, even though they were fully booked. She was able to complete our tests quickly and courteously. We were extremely pleased with the care we received. Thanks, Melanie!

Urgent care
After visiting Carbon about 10 days ago for an ear canal that was clogged with wax, my symptoms returned (ear pain, moist discharge from the ear canal.) So, unable to get an appointment with my PCP, I scheduled an appointment at Carbon. This time a different doctor saw me. As soon as she entered the room and asked me what was going on and learned that I had been using carbon oxide drops to try and re-clear my ear, she berated me and told me that I should not do that. She berated me over and over, like I was a stupid person, which put me off guard and had the effect of shutting me up. Then she looked in my ears and pronounced me to be healthy… nothing wrong. It felt like she wanted to be done with me. I told her that I had pain in my ear (to which she interrupted “take Advil”) and that every morning I woke up with a moist and slightly not nice smelling moist discharge coming from my ear. I asked if this is something that could be solved with antibiotics or steroids. She said she could give me prednisone “if I wanted” as if I would be the one to make the prescribing decision. Then I told her about the discharge and she said that she could give me some antibiotic drops, and that I should take Guifenesen. The doctor made very little effort to understand my issue and symptoms, and she had a pretty awful bedside manner. I would not want to see this doctor again. I left having zero sense of resolution, and zero confidence in the treatment plan she gave me. I guess I will try to see my PCP or go to an ENT. This was an awful waste of time and money. She prescribed antibiotic ear drops, and did not prescribe the prednisone.

Urgent care in Sunnyvale, CA

Sunnyvale is one of the largest cities in Silicon Valley, with a daytime population that swells significantly thanks to a dense tech employer base. El Camino Health anchors the local network, with Kaiser and Stanford operating nearby. For broader options, see urgent care in San Jose.

What services do urgent care clinics in Sunnyvale offer?

El Camino Health, Kaiser Permanente, and Stanford Health Care all operate urgent care or walk-in locations in or near Sunnyvale.2 Common visits include respiratory illness, repetitive-strain and ergonomic complaints from desk workers, sprains, pediatric same-day visits, and standard urgent care needs. Most clinics offer x-ray and on-site lab.

Most clinics also offer DOT and sports physicals, allergy treatment, STI testing, and travel medicine. What urgent care typically does not handle: active heart attack or stroke symptoms, severe trauma, complicated childbirth, or psychiatric emergencies — those need an ER. Most Sunnyvale-area clinics post wait times online and accept walk-ins, though booking ahead through Solv typically gets you in faster and lets you complete paperwork before you arrive.

Typical visit length is 30 to 90 minutes from check-in to discharge, depending on whether x-ray, lab work, or a procedure (laceration repair, splinting) is needed. Most clinics in the Sunnyvale area are open 7 days a week, with extended evening and weekend hours. Some operate as 24/7 urgent care or freestanding ERs — those are clearly labeled in the booking tool above so you can pick based on hours and acuity.

Does urgent care in Sunnyvale accept Medi-Cal?

Yes — most Sunnyvale urgent care clinics accept Medi-Cal, California's Medicaid program administered by the Department of Health Care Services.1 In Santa Clara County, Medi-Cal managed care runs through Santa Clara Family Health Plan. KFF state data shows significant Medi-Cal enrollment across the Bay Area.3 Most clinics also accept the commercial PPO plans common with major tech employers (Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare).

Medi-Cal covers urgent care visits, basic labs, x-ray, prescription medications ordered during the visit, and follow-up referrals. Patients typically have no copay at the point of care for managed-care visits. If your Medi-Cal plan has not been activated or if the clinic is out-of-network with your specific managed care plan, you may be asked to pay self-pay rates and seek reimbursement. The clinic’s front desk can verify eligibility in real time before you’re seen.

For commercial insurance, most local clinics participate with the major PPO and HMO carriers and process insurance at the point of care. Bring your current insurance card and a photo ID. If you’re uninsured, ask about self-pay rates up front — many clinics publish flat self-pay pricing that’s far lower than an ER visit. HSA and FSA cards are accepted at most clinics for the patient-responsibility portion of the visit.

How does Sunnyvale urgent care relate to San Jose?

Sunnyvale has approximately 156,000 residents per the U.S. Census Bureau,4 making it the seventh-largest city in the Bay Area. The city sits 8 miles northwest of San Jose and borders Mountain View, Cupertino, and Santa Clara. Daytime population skews even larger because of the tech employer base.

For most non-emergency same-day issues, staying local in Sunnyvale is faster and cheaper than driving to a San Jose ER. Reserve the ER for true emergencies. If a clinic in Sunnyvale can’t see you, the booking tool above will surface the next-soonest availability across nearby cities — often within a 10–15 minute drive.
