Overview of STD Testing in Flower Mound

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), regardless of their age, gender, or sexual orientation. This is particularly important for those who have multiple sexual partners, have had unprotected sex, or have been previously diagnosed with an STD. According to the CDC, certain groups, including men who have sex with men, and young adults aged 15-24, are at a higher risk and should get tested regularly.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for both your own health and the health of your sexual partners. Many STDs do not show symptoms, or they can be easily mistaken for other health issues. Left untreated, STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications.
