I recently visited Bellaire ER and they were excellent all around. Miss Ana in the front desk was very nice and helpful. And Dr. Quintanilla was very professional and gave me the upmost care! I would definitely recommend and use Bellaire ER again!

New to area (just moved here) my son drove me to your facility as closer than St David after a surprise visit to my apt. He knew I was not feeling well. I was treated right away. Dx w L LL Pnemonia and script for 2 antibiotics. Treated by a Nurse Practitioner!!!😍I was very pleased as I am a retired Hospital RN and have twin identical BSN nurses! One at MD Anderson -Houston and works as ER nurse in Des Plaines Illinois. .

Wait time is everything. I had to wait almost an hour for having pink eye. After waiting so long, I was seen and out the door in 5 minutes. Ridiculous.

I had an appointment and arrived early. It was a really long wait with one person in front of me. Staff was awesome though. I didn't really feel that I had to be seen by so many different staff members and technicians (4) just for lab work. Never got a call back on rapid results.

Urgent Care in Manor, TX

Manor is one of Texas's fastest-growing communities, a small city in Travis County northeast of Austin that has seen its population surge from around 11,000 in 2020 to more than 18,000 in recent years—a growth rate of approximately 72% in just a few years. That rapid expansion has brought new residents, new schools, and increasing demand for local healthcare services. CareNow Urgent Care on Shadowglen Boulevard and Texas MedClinic at US-290 have opened to meet growing demand, though healthcare infrastructure in Manor continues to catch up with population growth. The broader Austin urgent care network is accessible via US-290 for residents needing specialty care.

When should you use urgent care instead of the ER in Manor?

Urgent care in Manor is ideal for illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening: respiratory infections, ear and sinus infections, UTIs, strep throat, minor sprains, lacerations, rashes, and flu-like symptoms. Given Manor's rapid growth and limited local hospital capacity, distinguishing ER-appropriate conditions from urgent care cases is especially important. Reserve the emergency room for chest pain, stroke symptoms, major trauma, difficulty breathing, or any condition that could be immediately life-threatening. Urgent care clinics can help triage borderline cases and facilitate hospital transfers when appropriate.

What do urgent care clinics in Manor treat?

Walk-in clinics in Manor treat a wide range of conditions for adults and children. Respiratory illness, pediatric ear infections, and sports-related injuries are among the most common. The community's young demographic—driven by families moving to Manor's new residential developments—generates significant demand for sports physicals in Manor, TX for school athletic programs. Occupational services including DOT physicals in Manor, TX are also available for workers along the US-290 corridor.

Seasonal health in Manor and Travis County

Austin and Travis County experience some of the most significant cedar fever seasons in the country. Mountain cedar pollen peaks from December through February, triggering intense allergic rhinitis across the region. Oak, elm, and grass pollen extend the allergy season through late spring, driving consistent walk-in volume at area clinics. Summer is extreme: Central Texas heat index values regularly exceed 100°F, and heat exhaustion is a common reason for urgent care visits from June through September. According to Travis County Health and Human Services,1 the county maintains public health programs addressing environmental and social determinants of health for all residents, including Manor's growing and diverse population.

Who lives in Manor, TX?

According to the U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts,2 Manor has grown dramatically from its 2020 Census baseline. The community is racially and economically diverse: approximately 33% Hispanic or Latino, 27% Black or African American, and a mix of income levels that includes working families for whom STAR Medicaid and self-pay pricing are important access considerations.

Does urgent care in Manor accept STAR Medicaid and other insurance?

Texas Medicaid is administered through the STAR managed care program, which provides health coverage for qualifying low-income children, pregnant women, and eligible adults, as described by Texas Health and Human Services.3 STAR members should verify their specific managed care organization's network before visiting, as covered clinics vary by plan. According to KFF State Health Facts,4 Texas has one of the highest uninsured rates in the United States, making self-pay pricing transparency an important access consideration for residents across the state.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • Is urgent care or the ER right for most health needs in Manor, TX?

Urgent care handles most non-emergency conditions faster and at lower cost than an ER. Use the emergency room for chest pain, stroke, major trauma, or life-threatening situations. Given Manor's rapid growth and limited nearby hospital capacity, choosing the right care setting matters for both cost and wait time.
  • Does urgent care in Manor accept STAR Medicaid?

CareNow and Texas MedClinic in Manor accept many insurance types, and some locations participate in Texas STAR Medicaid networks. STAR members should confirm their specific managed care organization's network participation before visiting.
  • Are there urgent care clinics in Manor open after hours or on weekends?

Yes. CareNow and Texas MedClinic in Manor offer extended hours and weekend availability to accommodate working families. Online check-in and queue management tools help reduce in-clinic wait time.
  • How long is the wait at urgent care in Manor?

Manor is one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas and demand for local healthcare can be high. Using online check-in or visiting during early morning weekday hours typically produces the shortest wait. Austin metro clinics are also accessible via US-290 for backup options.
  • What health services does Manor need most given its rapid growth?

Manor's explosive population growth—over 70% since 2020—has created demand that healthcare infrastructure is still catching up with. Urgent care clinics fill a critical gap for acute illness and injury care while primary care capacity expands. Pediatric urgent care is particularly in demand given the community's young, family-oriented demographic profile.
  • Are there urgent care clinics near Manor open after hours or on weekends?

Yes. Urgent care options near Manor include clinics in the broader east Austin and Travis County corridor along SH-290. Many Austin-area clinics offer extended weekday evening hours and weekend walk-in availability. Use Solv to check real-time hours near Manor.
  • Is urgent care accessible for residents in Manor's fast-growing eastern Travis County communities?

Yes. As Manor's residential base has expanded rapidly along the SH-290 corridor, urgent care access has grown to serve new communities in eastern Travis County. Clinics in Manor and nearby Pflugerville and east Austin serve these growing neighborhoods, reducing the need to travel into central Austin for routine care.
