New to area (just moved here) my son drove me to your facility as closer than St David after a surprise visit to my apt. He knew I was not feeling well. I was treated right away. Dx w L LL Pnemonia and script for 2 antibiotics. Treated by a Nurse Practitioner!!!๐Ÿ˜I was very pleased as I am a retired Hospital RN and have twin identical BSN nurses! One at MD Anderson -Houston and works as ER nurse in Des Plaines Illinois. .

Urgent care
I had an appointment and arrived early. It was a really long wait with one person in front of me. Staff was awesome though. I didn't really feel that I had to be seen by so many different staff members and technicians (4) just for lab work. Never got a call back on rapid results.

Urgent care in Elgin, TX

Elgin โ€” known as the "Sausage Capital of Texas" โ€” is a growing community of about 12,000 residents in Bastrop County, situated along US-290 roughly 30 miles east of downtown Austin. Once a small agricultural town, Elgin has seen rapid residential growth as Austin's expansion pushes eastward along the US-290 corridor. Walk-in urgent care is available locally and through the broader Austin urgent care network.

What services do urgent care clinics in Elgin offer?

Walk-in clinics in Elgin and the eastern Bastrop County corridor treat respiratory infections, flu, strep, ear and sinus infections, UTIs, minor lacerations, sprains and strains, skin conditions, and occupational health needs. Ascension Seton operates facilities in the Austinโ€“Bastrop corridor, and St. David's HealthCare has outpatient locations serving eastern Travis and Bastrop counties.2 Baylor Scott & White also serves the Central Texas region with urgent care access along the US-290 East and I-130 corridors.

As Elgin transitions from a rural agricultural community to a fast-growing Austin suburb, healthcare infrastructure is expanding to match demand. Online check-in and extended clinic hours are increasingly available at local and nearby walk-in providers.

Does urgent care in Elgin accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics in Elgin and Bastrop County participate in STAR, Texas's Medicaid managed care program for qualifying children, families, and pregnant women, administered by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.1 Bastrop County has a rural character with pockets of lower-income households; STAR is an important coverage mechanism for area families. Confirm your managed care organization (MCO) is accepted and bring your STAR card to your visit.3

How does Elgin urgent care relate to Austin?

Elgin sits at the eastern edge of the Austin metro's expansion zone, growing rapidly as buyers priced out of the city find more affordable land along US-290. According to U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts, the city's population reached approximately 12,304 as of the most recent estimates, reflecting consistent growth over the past decade.4 As local healthcare capacity grows, the full Austin urgent care network remains accessible via US-290 West.
