Great staff, got you in quick, and great PA. I would have liked the staff to spend a little more time explaining the after care and different things. This was my second time here and I highly recommend. It’s hard finding great urgent care clinics

So glad I found this place! NO line! Much less paperwork than other urgent care facilities. Receptionist explained things clearly. Got in right away! Doctor was so friendly and gave me accurate and succinct information. I was in and out in 15 minutes, yet nothing was short-cutted (did new patient info, got vitals and strep test done), all the staff were super friendly, I didn't feel rushed and I felt like I got all my questions answered. They don't have a City Doc near me, but this will be worth the drive to go to in the future. Hands down best experience I've ever had.

We went to another urgent care earlier in the day and they didn’t diagnose my 3 year old with flu. This urgent care did and had us out as soon as the results were ready with a rx. Love Dr. Ezekiel

Everyone was very nice and friendly. My daughter had a sore throat and exposure to strep so I wanted to make sure she didn’t have it. The total visit was an hour and a half. Her total time “seeing” nurse or provider was about 15 minutes. Waiting to check with provider to see if she needed the strep test was the whole other time.

The only issue was the wait time. There was no one in the waiting room when we arrived and it still took over an hour to get stitches taken out. I understand there were probably other patients in the room but it's hard to wait that long for something simple with 3 kids in tow.

My son was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. I was able to book our appointment online, complete all the necessary paperwork digitally and when we arrived we waited for less than 2 minutes before we were called back. We chose to have him tested using the rapid test and we were able to wait in the room for his results. I appreciate their efficiency in our time of need.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Mesquite cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Mesquite or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • What is urgent care?

Urgent care are available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.

I waited for 6 hours at Texas childrens urgent care with my toddler who had 104.2 fever so I decided to try here. Got in very quick even when they was busy and very nice. The only problem which was very stressful is that I had my husband and me with our sick 2 year old and 5 month old. They told me 1 parent per room but I couldn’t handle both babies by myself so they split us up. My 2 year old was screaming for me but COVID protocol they couldn’t put us together. It was stressful not being in the same room together and having to hold my baby down so the doctor can check him. The doctor didn’t understand why they didn’t put us together as well. I made it clear to every nurse and staff I saw that I had both kids there and had to run back and forth to try to help my husband and my baby. They was really nice and professional but it made it a hassle and Texas childrens didn’t have a problem with us being in the same room. Just didn’t want to wait for 6 hours to be seen.

Love this new kids urgent care! Not only close to home but everyone was super friendly and I was in and out. Love it!

We were in the waiting room for two hours with other sick and coughing people. We were told we could not wait in the car. Other patients had multiple family members waiting inside with them leaving a full waiting room with no place to social distance. No pro cautionary changes have been made to decrease risk of COVID spread. The only reason we had to use urgent care was because our daughters doctor was closed for the holiday weekend. I feel like we had to come and get help for one possible infection only to significantly increase our risk of another due to poor management. Every other doctors/medical/emergency office everywhere has made changes to keep people out of waiting rooms with everyone else, but here we were stuck for 2 full hours in close space with other potentially serious sick people.

I went in with a dog bite to my hand. It was a deep puncture. I was in so much pain. They cleaned my hand ,took X-rays and put a splint on it. I had a Tetanus shot as well. They were so compassionate, kind and thorough. My appointment was at 5:45 and I was on my way home by 7 pm. I did not wait at all to see the medical staff. I was prescribed antibiotics and Motrin and this morning, I woke pain free. I am so grateful to the entire wonderful staff. I just cannot day enough good things about this place. I recommend it highly. This is where I’ll be coming from now on. I had called several other places before this and the other places wanted me to report my dog , they told me I’d have an extremely long wait and then my husband called Southwest Urgent Care. What a wonderful difference! I felt at ease immediately and they took such good care of me. I am beyond satisfied with their service. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional, yet friendly, kind and patient . One of the best experiences I have ever had at a clinic. I may be gushing, but they certainly deserve accolades!! Thank you so much from a very satisfied and happy patient.

This urgent care facility is a lot better than others I’ve frequented in the past. The staff was friendly and professional…and the physician seemed thorough and knowledgeable. The wait time was a little lengthy but I needed care at that time so it wasn’t a huge problem for me. The checkin process was convenient and the bedside manner was notable. I would recommend this location.

I hate I made an appointment but walk-in patients were put ahead of a scheduled appointment. I feel two hours is a long time to wait for an urgent care facility. I asked the receptionist when I came in how the scheduled appointments work with walk-in she said they take patients according to the time of arrival. Why did I make an appointment if it doesn’t matter?

What a great urgent care facility! The shopping center it’s in can be a bit rough, but you can’t tell that in the inside. I appreciated their emphasis not to overprescribe antibiotics! Too many places hand these out like candy, and it hurts your overall health! Glad we came here and will return when we need after hour care for our kids.

Great experience today. Wait times are impressive especially with online appointments. Staff and physicians are always great at this location. Would definitely recommend to anyone with urgent care needs.

Everyone I interacted was super pleasant from the moment I walked in up and through the check out process. This is not the closest urgent care to my house but I will come here next time I need anything just because everyone was so great.

Urgent Care is a place I now choose fire my medical needs. The girls out front are sweet and get their job done! Harris is not only professional, but caring and understanding with her patients. She is knowledgeable and has helped me n family when we seek medical attention. I went to the facility on Monday, November 23. They were busy and Harris was not in that day. There was a male NP attending patients. I did not get his name. Well I really didn’t think I got the medical attention I was looking for. He was rushing, I am post Covid so my voice is not normal, I shake and my oxygen levels drop when I do things. He looked frustrated. I wasn’t even given chance to tell him what all was wrong with me. He did take chest X-ray. Then proceeded in sending me to the ER, where I waited 3.5 hours while people with Covid and lord knows what where walking in and some had no mask. So I walked out, did not want to go through that illness again. I just felt like he didn’t want to deal with me so passed me on. I know my lungs are weak and need oxygen at home... I was in tuba Ted 15 days in icu and spent time in rehabilitation hospital to walk and talk again! Why not just get me some oxygen to go home ? Anyway, Now I’ll be suffering until After Thanksgiving! I’ve always told my staff.. off you do not love what you do, then go find it!

The staff was prompt and friendly to my situation/ injury. After a bad experience with a previous urgent care center earlier in the day primacare took me in and took care of me. The entire staff was very friendly and compassionate and if I lived here I would visit all the time. They’re doing a great job and I appreciate all the care and comfort they took into consideration with my injury.

This was our first experience at this pedi urgent care and I was very impressed. The staff was incredible and so accommodating to us. Our 6 yr old came in with strep symptoms and was in a lot of pain and discomfort. They accommodated her immediately to ensure she was comfortable while we waited our turn. Even letting her lay down in a vacant room while we waited. They checked on us periodically to let us know where we stood in line and talked so kindly to both of us. Best urgent care experience by far. I have 2 suggestions - 1. Since it’s a pedi focused urgent care it would be lovely to have bright and colorful decor surrounding us while we waited. The walls were completely bare and beige. Something simple like color and bright pictures but can really change a mood. 2. Instead of offering a sucker at the end (with the stickers - thank you) offer brave little boys and girls a toy. I understand the reason to reward them but if their immune system is already compromised it’s not a good idea to introduce high fructose corn syrup, sugar and dyes into their system that’s already fighting. A silly cheap toy would be just as rewarding without being detrimental. The stickers were great though and definitely made her smile!! Overall- really positive experience!!

Not able to diagnose. Charged and sent to ER. What was the point in going to Urgent care clinic?

- Verified patient on 7/6

Hello, this was my first visit to Fast Aid. My experience was that everything was top notch, other than one minor glitch The the x-ray report was given to me on a dvd-r. My laptop is able to read disks, however it wasn't able to read this one. So I wasn't able to follow up with my PCP later that afternoon. Even if I was able to read the disk it is an older technology that isn't used nearly as much as it used to. It seems like they might want to look into better ways to share information. But it was really no big deal and didn't taint an otherwise pleasant visit. This isn't me complaining, merely providing constructive feedback. Again I will say that overall I was pleased with the services provided. Anyway I am hoping the good service continues, so I know I'll have a place to go for urgent care. To me this was so much easier and faster than trying to get in to see my PCP. It wasn't an emergency so it didn't make sense to me to go to an ER. Fast Aid seems to me to be this go between. It's a great idea. Sort of like the difference between going to the Walgreen's around the corner instead of having to drive all the way across town to go to the grocery store, just to get one or two items real quick. This location is super convenient for me too. Glad they're in town now. Thanks!

Love the available weekend hours! Smooth and easy flow experience from checking in to examination... The nurse and dr were really nice/attentive to my kiddos. Will be back for my kids urgent care needs!

I reported to the front desk and told them I had an appointment to be tested at 7 pm. I was told to wait outside and I would receive a text when they were ready to see me. On the website I saw where I could fill out some paperwork which I did. The front desk came out to get me and asked for my paperwork. I told them that I had filled it out on line. The young lady said”ok, we’ll just need some initials.” I was led to a room where I was given copies of the paperwork I had already filled out on line with “x”s for my initials. I went ahead and initialed each “x”. The nurse came in, took the paperwork from me and told me, “But you didn’t fill out the rest of the information.” By this time I was more than frustrated with the whole situation and the nurse sensed it. She offered to finish filling out the paperwork. I would like to mention that this was none of her doing. The rest of my experience was actually very good. This is the second time we use this urgent care clinic and will probably use it in the future. Just need more attention at the front desk.

I have 2 toddlers go to the daycare and when 1 get sick then the other one will be next. That’s why my kids are their regular patients as they get sick all time. I usually booked the appointment but then one time I was told “first come first serve, appointment was just for the paperwork”. Ok fine, next time I walked in with no appointment and was told “no walk in accepted, appointment only”. I was so confused as what to do because the management kept on changing their mind. My kid was sick I couldnt wait until tomorrow so I left to another urgent care that day. Tonight, I made an appointment, as I walked in the receptionist already knew by confirmed the name. She was quickly get us a room. The nurses were very thorough and professional. When the dr walked in; I was so happy and felt so lucky when I saw that was Dr Jeannie Huynh. She is the reason why I came back to this place after many issues we had. She always explained the cause and then the treatment so clearly. She always gave the correct diagnosis. I wish they have her as a regular dr at this location.

About Urgent Care

Urgent care is Mesquite's best option for quality medical care when you need it, offering walk-in appointments during extended hours and on weekends. Solv even has clinic partners in the Mesquite-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait.

Walk-in clinics provide a convenient, fast alternative to emergency rooms—even primary care providers—treating minor injuries and illnesses including strep throat, infections, cold and flu symptoms, allergies, rashes, burns, bites, and more. Additionally, most offer preventative care including annual well exams, lab testing, and vaccinations.

When you’re in need of medical care for a non-life threatening condition, trust the urgent care providers nearby. And whenever possible, make it easier by scheduling and managing your visit with Solv.

Urgent Care Guide

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why urgent care has been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “urgent care near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Urgent care centers typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as injuries like bone fractures and sprains, cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. And at a growing rate urgent care clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

For kids there are special pediatric urgent care centers, usually open after hours for patients between the ages of 1 and 18.

Urgent Care Services & Pricing

Urgent care centers, which are part of the walk-in clinic healthcare category, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at an urgent care including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. You can also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks - things that you might first thing to go to the emergency room vs urgent care, but you’ll have a shorter wait and smaller bill at the urgent care. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $100-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images. With insurance, urgent care will be similar to seeing a specialist with applicable co-pay.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all urgent care centers take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $35-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $100-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Urgent Care Hours & Wait Times

Every urgent care center - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that an urgent care is open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find an urgent care near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
