Had a 3-4 day history of cough and head congestion. I have a colonoscopy in 1 week so really wanted to avoid having to reschedule as I already had to wait 6 months after scheduling due to Gastros busy schedule. I got the appt scheduled quick, waited a little over 30 min to be roomed and the PA was prompt, thorough, and had a great bedside manner. Thanks so much for seeing me.

We recently visited this urgent care for kids, and while the staff was kind and patient, the cleanliness of the facility was very concerning. The walls looked like they had mold growing on them, and the entire place just felt dirty and poorly maintained. The waiting area didn’t have any blinds, so we were sitting there getting baked by the sun the whole time, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. I really hope management addresses these issues soon because the people working there were great, but the condition of the building is absolutely unacceptable—especially for a place meant to care for children.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to certain risk factors should be tested for hepatitis. These risk factors include: having unprotected sex, sharing needles, having a blood transfusion before 1992, being born to a mother with hepatitis, or traveling to countries where hepatitis is common. It's also important for healthcare workers and those with chronic liver disease to get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection allows for prompt treatment, which can slow the disease progression, prevent transmission to others, and improve quality of life.

Hepatitis testing options in Addison, TX:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are convenient options for hepatitis testing. The Kingsley Clinic and CityDoc Urgent Care in Dallas are both highly rated and offer same-day and next-day appointments through Solv.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another good option for hepatitis testing. They can provide a comprehensive health check and offer personalized advice based on your medical history.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Free STD testing and community health centers are also available in Addison. These centers offer confidential testing services, often at no cost or a sliding fee scale based on income.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Addison

While specific data for Addison is not readily available, Dallas County, where Addison is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the past few years, according to the CDC. This trend is consistent with national data, which shows an increase in hepatitis cases across the United States.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Addison

Risk factors for hepatitis in Addison are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles, and having a blood transfusion before 1992. In addition, certain populations, such as healthcare workers and those with chronic liver disease, are at higher risk.

Other STDs in Addison

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Addison. As with hepatitis, these STDs can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, emphasizing the importance of regular testing.
