I have been to this facility a few times when I have had to take my child in times when her Pediatrician was away. They have taken care of her and even given me a referral so that I may take her to a specialist to further evaluate her. It's not very far from my home at all. I'm glad they are also available after my child gets out of school, since her pediatrican's last appt. is at 3:30, I have time to go to Metro-UrgiCare and feel reassured.

My visit required a follow up later in the afternoon, which was botched up at each step. Different prescriptions were supposed to be sent to the pharmacy that never came over and by the time they did come over the pharmacy closed hours later. Then the prescription that was resent was the same one as earlier in the day and the insurance company refused to cover it obviously. Communication and follow through was horrible.

Recent Lab Tests Reviews (20)

Very well organized & friendly. Much better than CityMD in my opinion. Westmed tested & diagnosed me with strep throat two days after CityMD told me I was fine & sent me home with no testing. Much, much better & highly recommend.

Easy on-line sign up for Covid-19 test. Was quickly checked in, sent to safe waiting room, picked up there by nursing staff and escorted to private room where vitals & basic info were taken and test administered. After a short wait there, had an informative, very helpful consult with a wonderful doctor, Dr. Andrew Wan, MD. I highly recommend WestMed at Ridge Hill!

Came in For a Covid test. From the check in at the front door to the receptionist, to the nurses, and the doctor, it was a very easy and quick experience. Very professional and I would highly recommend.

We were there for Covid 19 testing. We were seen quickly our nurse (Andi we think) gave us our test and was pleasant and efficient and very professional. Dr. Shuker was easy to talk to, answered our questions, gave good advice, and had an excellent sense of humor.

Had to take a COVID PCR test to travel. It was easy to reserve an appointment ahead of time online. They saw me promptly when I arrived. The nurse that took the test let me know which lab the sample was going to and gave me instructions on how to access the results direct from the lab. I got results in 24 hours.

- Verified patient on 10/8

Very pleasant. I felt like the staff actually cared about me and didn’t process me like a number. They treated me like a human. I was very appreciative that radiology was there and able to do necessary tests on site. The cost is nerve racking because I never know until after the fact what it’s going to cost me. If it’s beyond the copay I will have trouble paying. I didn’t want to go just because I didn’t want to have to pay another medical bill. After three days of pain though I decided I had to go.

We went for a Covid test, the wait was short and smooth and easy to check in and the staff listens carefully to your needs and that’s a plus, overall we are more than satisfied of the treatment received by the staff, from the receptionist, nurse and doctor

The woman with long blond braids at the door of the Ridge Hill entrance (greeter) was really rude. Asked me to leave the building because I told her I felt claustrophobic waiting in the room for Covid testing but instead, she allowed a woman and her daughter to drink their iced coffees while they had a conversation with her without their masks as I watched from the outside glass door. I missed my scheduled appointment because of this greeter and had to wait to be called last because she did not inform them in urgent care that she kicked me out of the lobby. I could understand of it was the same protocols for everyone but it is not since she was so friendly with the two females that were having a conversation with her without any face coverings and drinking coffee.

Everything was great and fast. The nurse was very sweet and answered all my questions. The Covid testing was very quick not a long wait at all.

Had to get a COVID test. Staff was great. They kept safety protocols and made me feel cared for during the whole experience. Love this place.

Friendly and clean . The problem is the NP reported the wrong diagnosis reasons on my son’s paperwork which produce conflict in a household of healthcare workers . My son was seen for covid 19 testing to visit a family member at a surgical facility and for travel to board on an airplane . The discharge diagnosis reason was documented incorrectly, it states known or suspected exposure which is different than encounter for screening for covid 19 . Now everyone in the house that works in healthcare has to explain to our employees that no one was exposed or suspected to have covid. We were using his discharge paperwork as proof that he got swab so that we can start the appointment process to visit the family member at the surgical facility but when they saw the diagnosis, it was place on hold . The documentation should always match the patient’s reason . His father stated it was to visit someone at a facility and abide by their requirements and to board a plane . It is an encounter for screening not known or suspected exposure . Other than the error on his discharge paperwork everything was good .

They should not charge for the covid quick test… nobody else I have heard of does charge , they take insurance, it’s a shame to have to spend $150 for 2 minutes!!!!!

Overall excellent experience once inside the urgent care. Went for covid testing so wait was long. I suggest keeping better control of your pcr tests as apparently sometimes you run out before you even get inside. Just manage line based on number of tests at hand so people dont wait in vain.

My doctor was very thorough. She asked me questions and listened to me. She explained my test results and advised my future follow up if necessary. I was very pleased with the kindness of the doctor and the staff were all very nice.I felt I was given a good examination.

I took a COVID test and met with the physician assistant. The woman who tested me was so nice and the PA was also kind and knowledgeable. They took me promptly as well.

I didn't feel well and made an appointment to be seen and have a Covid test. I didn't have to wait and everyone was so friendly.

My husband and I were there for a COVID19 test. From the start it was easy to schedule an appointment. On the day of our appointment there was no wait at all. Front desk staff and nurses were polite, professional and caring towards my husband's needs. -

Made on-line appointment, which was confirmed. Check in was very easy. Was taken within minutes of arriving. Nurse Mary was discreet and nice. The test was pain free.

My wife and I came for COVID tests. We were greeted by all staff and were in and out rather quickly, as usual.

This was my second time visiting this urgent care and I was impressed both times. They are very efficient in scheduling and have minimal wait time. The entire staff is friendly and professional and the nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors spend a good amount of time with you. They can do a lot of tests/scans right there and go over the results with you before you leave - a great change from the usual routine of having to schedule lab work or scans at a different facility and then schedule a follow up for results. Also, this being my first visit since the pandemic hit - I was impressed at the level of cleanliness and felt safer there than any other public place I've been this past year.

Yonkers Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. To see how you're responding to a drug or to check if you're at risk for certain diseases, lab tests may be performed. If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. To see how you're responding to a drug or to check if you're at risk for certain diseases, lab tests may be performed.

Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
