The receptionist on the right checked me in. She had a very unpleasant demeanor and was not kind in the least. The lady on the left greeted everyone with a smile and showed kindness and respect to everyone. They are your first impression, it makes a difference. The nurse was incredible!  Very attentive and personable. The NP was just ok, nothing good or bad to say about her.  Overall a good experience. I was in and out quickly.

Woke up this morning with dizziness and loss of balance along with night sweats, insomnia and body aches. Sign in was easy. I was taken to the back to get vitals done. I provided a list of all the medications I already take to the person taking my vitals. I was taken to a room afterwards and an assistant came in and swabbed my nostrils for the flu and COVID in which the results were negative. I also did a urine test. Doctor Jasmine Hudson, NP, came in and asked a few questions and advised me that I was dehydrated and was going through menopause. She advised she could prescribe me something for sleep and menopause. I was prescribed Venlafaxine 25 mg tablets and Hydroxyzine palpate 50 mg capsules. I had already provided a list of medications I take to the lady doing my vitals. The two medications the Doctor  prescribed for me cannot be taken with the fluoxetine I already take. My pharmacist made me aware of that when I was picking up the prescriptions. I’m not sure if the doctor had read my chart at all. I ended up not buying the Venlafaxine and just purchased the Hydroxyzine. The pharmacist said not to take it and the Fluoxetine together at the same time to see if any side effects would result. I will try this just to see and stop taking it if it results in any side effects.  I’m not satisfied with the prescriptions I was provided due to the prescriptions I already take. I do not recommend being seen by Dr. Jasmine Hudson, NP because I feel she overlooked the prescription Fluoxetine I take and prescribed another antidepressant that she said was for menopause. I recommend the provider but not the doctor/NP.

Had a back ache for a couple of days then welts appeared.  I was able to walk in & be seen same day for a definitive diagnosis of what I thought was going on. Sign in is all online & you have to do it all yourself & waiting time to be seen initially was @20 minutes & once n a room it was about an hour. There were only 2 patients in the facility. So wait time was kinda long but OK. Grateful to be seen! Definitely would recommend.

I had a walk in visit to renew long-term medicarion.  In this computer age, I feel it’s ridiculous to have to laboriously put in ALL information each visit.  What’s the deal?  I was the only person in the waiting area on a rainy afternoon and the wait was too long. Receptionist was friendly. Nurse was not  friendly. The PA on duty was nice and helpful. She allowed me 6 months on my recurring medication vs the 3 months that the dr will only give me.  Had to ask for a print out of my blood work from several months before. Again, why is it that cannot be emailed to me?  Don’t understand why I have to come in to get the results vs getting them online or emailed. Ridiculous!  This practice needs to step things up a bit.

Walk in with sore throat and coughing low grade temp. Signed in on my phone and someone did finally come out ( not too long a wait) was seen in about 30 minutes. Staff very nice and polite and seemed to enjoy being there on a holiday weekend. Possible diagnosis given, scripts called in and culture redone to send to outside lab. All in all a pleasant visit.

THE ABILITY TO CHECK IN AND SCHEDULE A TIME FRAME TO BE SEEN IS VERY CONVENIENT. EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TO AFC MY CASE WAS HANDLED BY AN MD THAT TOOK THE TIME TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE. I WILL USE AFC URGENT CARE IN THE FUTURE.

Scheduling and check in went well and went quickly, except my iPad turned off. It was low on power. The big waiting room was clean. The check in associate in the waiting room was nice. The doctor was nice, thorough, and had an excellent bedside manner. It would be nice if the nurse who took my pressure and temp told me what the numbers were. The curtain where you get weighed was full of hair and the floor of the room where you wait for the doctor was full of hair.

I scheduled an online visit for my teenage daughter with complete ease. From the moment we walked into the waiting room and then to the treatment room and again at our exit we were greeted by the kindest and professional staff. They were wonderful to us and very concerned about caring for my daughter and getting her what she needed. Our provider was especially kind and in depth with her medical care. Each time a staff member left the treatment room my daughter said, “They are so nice mom.” I was very satisfied with the care and felt great about what the provider diagnosed and recommended for treatment. Also the clinic was super clean! Stacy Dennis

Everyone was super friendly and I felt like I knew everyone for years. They were really sweet and easy going. Just had a DOT physical. They were on it and I told them about how professional they were and have referred several people since today. 👍

Best place in town for physicals. Brought my daughter for a sports physical which cost the same as w/our copay but without the week’s wat for the pediatrician- and my partner got his DOT physical here last week and it was less than what his insurance charges. Staff are friendly and efficient. I’ll be taking my kids here for physicals every year.

Blood pressure was to high to pass DOT physical. I am going to see PCP to get b/p under control. I retired 8-8-20 I did not really need a DOT physical anyway. Can I get refund on payment. Thanks Jerry Deering ***

I came in on 1/15/20 for a DOT Physical, the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. This is my third time at this particular clinic, and each time I am impressed with the care I receive. My wife also comes here for all her medical care.

Received a DOT physical! Staff and experience were great.....only concern was it’s the Covid pandemic! I should have not been made to wait 1 1/2 hours for a physical! I would assume if there was a pandemic your goal would be to get the healthy out in a timely fashion and not wait and exposure to the virus!

My expierence today was excellent. It was my first dot physical and I was having trouble getting my bp down to pass. There was a red headed nurse that took the time to make me comfortable enough and relaxed enough to achieve an acceptable number . Forgive me for not knowing her name, but she brought me a bottle of water and allowed me to occupy a room long enough for her to get a manual measurement that was acceptable. She made the difference today! Thank you

It is not my regular doctor's office. But they recommended these folks from my DOT physical. The staff was fantastic, and very professional. I usually do not like doctors offices, but I was very comfortable here. And the doctor that saw me had a fantastic sense of humor, that made the visit even more pleasurable. I definitely recommend this place for anybody who needs to see a doctor, and I would definitely visit here again.

- Verified patient on 3/20

Had a DOT physical. Price was cheaper than anywhere else I called and I was able to walk in without an appointment. I didn’t have to wait long at all to be seen. Everyone was super nice. I will come here for medical services from now on.

Great experience getting my DOT physical. I just wish the other Immediate care centers would have sent me to the occupational one first off instead of guessing which clinic had a DOT doctor. A bit of wasted time making appointments at the wrong clinic.

- Verified patient on 2/14

I can not express enough how my treatment was today. I showed up to get my DOT physical exam. I was greeted with a pleasant smile and a detailed description of the paperwork I had to fill out. I had a request to use the restroom early for the urinalysis test because of water intake and driving time.. I was immediately granted permission. This was an awesome experience with smiles and a few laughs the staff is wonderful. And Advanced practice nurse RAGONE was absolutely a pleasant treat to go through this . She makes you feel completely comfortable and is very thorough with the medical questions. I felt so at ease and will definitely be coming back because of her in the future to renew my DOT card. Thank you all for your great service and all you've done through this madness. With all my respect RM. 1-16-21

I had to get my DOT Physical. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the friendly lady up front that helped me complete my paperwork. My wait was minimal. Everyone in the back was also very friendly and professional. I told my supervisor at work and he is going to start sending everyone there. What a Great experience and I will definitely recommend. Thank You, Tim @ Blossman Gas!

I was very happy with the way I was treated from the time I arrived until I left. I received professional care and courtesy. I would recommend Franklin Park urgent Care to anyone in need of medical attention or a DOT physical. Thank you! Walter H.

Everyone one from the ladies at front desk to the doc and all in between are awesome. The wait time for just a DOT physical, well that sux. But I understand with all going on with Covid. I will always return there.

- Verified patient on 9/1

Fastest turnaround time for getting a DOT physical in quite a while. Staff was friendly but a mix up with my company required me to pay them and get reimbursed later, and didn’t need to fill out all the paperwork given at sign-in. They don’t need my SSN.

As a bus driver I get a DOT physical every year and have been to many different locations to do so. This was my first time going to the McKinney PrimaCare and I can definitely say that this staff at this location is far and above the very best I’ve ever been to. Every person I interacted with was welcoming, warm, and friendly. This is especially important for me because I am terrified to go to the doctor and not much terrifies me ;-) I will use this location again. Can’t say enough about this competent and caring staff!!!!!!

- Verified patient on 10/3

The front desk lady was very welcoming and informative about the wait time and tried her best to see me in this busy time. The nurse and doctor were amazing i didn't feel rushed whatsoever and took the time with me for my dot physical. i will always come to Hixson office for all my urgent services. You guys are the best! Thank you for all you do!

Place was busy but staff remained friendly. I was there for a DOT physical, and recommend that during the hearing portion of the test to perform the test in a room with no background music coming from speakers in the ceiling,

- Verified patient on 2/20

When I entered the front doors the staff instructed me on how to check in from a safe distance and everything else was very easy to understand and self-explanatory. I then sat in the waiting room and before I knew it, they called me to the back and everything went very quickly, quicker than I thought it would. I was very pleased. The whole process worked very quickly and very professionally. It was a much more pleasant experience than the last clinic that our company used for DOT physicals.

- Verified patient on 12/2

Wait little long only because COVID exposed myself to COVID for a dot physical not their fault government should stop physical and drug test during pandemic truckers get exposed and spread all over USA staff awesome and slammed they did say COVID patients on other side building but front door walk ins that don’t call first with COVID seems be some exposure there

DOT Exams in Tarrant, AL

If you work in the transportation industry, you're probably familiar with the concept of a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. Professional drivers must undergo this type of medical check in order to maintain their license. Finding a DOT physical provider, on the other hand, might be difficult, especially if you're in a hurry. We've simplified the DOT exam search at Solv.

How Solv makes getting your DOT exam simple and convenient

It can be stressful when your DOT certification is about to expire. You can, however, arrange an appointment with a top-rated local DOT examination provider using Solv's simple DOT exam locator tool. This simple and convenient search tool can assist you in locating the specific evaluation you require to maintain your professional standing.

Partnering with Solv for DOT exam services

A DOT physical exam is a thorough examination of your current health to ensure that you are fit to drive a commercial vehicle safely (CMV). Professional DOT physicals can help you and other drivers stay safe while on the road. To operate a commercial motor vehicle safely, everyone with a commercial driver's license (CDL) must meet certain health standards, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). A specially certified medical examiner must undertake this DOT physical, often known as a CDL physical or CDL exam.

Specific areas of your health will be assessed during a DOT physical to ensure that you can safely and successfully operate a motor vehicle. The DOT health evaluation comprises the following, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP):

  • A physical examination will be performed, which will include a test of your gripping ability, cognitive state, and mobility. A DOT examiner will confirm that you have a prosthetic device that meets federal regulations if you have an amputation.
  • A review of your medical history, including whether you have insulin-dependent diabetes, heart problems, breathing problems, high blood pressure, epilepsy, rheumatic conditions, arthritis, orthopedic conditions that can impair your ability to drive, or psychiatric conditions.
  • With or without corrective lenses, a vision test to ensure that you are inside a specific, predetermined range for visual acuity, color perception, and peripheral vision.
  • A hearing test, with or without a hearing equipment, to ensure that you can hear particular decibel levels within a certain range.
  • A urine test to see how well your kidneys are working. Your urine may also be tested for drugs, depending on your exam and medical history.
  • A medical examination to determine whether or not you are abusing alcohol.

Unless a condition is found on the exam that requires recertification sooner, your DOT certification is normally valid for 24 months after you earn it. If you fail the exam due to a medical condition, you may be allowed to ask for an exemption, according to the FMCSA. A second opinion may also be available to you.

Drivers operating commercial vehicles across state lines must get a DOT physical if their vehicle weighs more than five tons, is designed to carry 9-15 passengers for compensation, is designed to carry 16+ passengers, or if they are transporting hazardous materials. Drivers must receive a DOT physical every 24 months or as determined by a doctor. The rules for drivers who stay within one state will vary. Check to see if Alabama requires a DOT physical for intrastate driving before booking an appointment.

  • What is a DOT physical?

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), a DOT physical is a medical examination that helps make sure you are medically safe to operate a certified motor vehicle. Because certified motor vehicles generally are larger and more difficult to operate than passenger cars, their professional drivers are held to higher standards to keep everyone on the road as safe as possible.

  • How long is a DOT physical good for?

According to the FMCSA, DOT physicals are typically valid for 24 months. However, if a condition has been identified on your last exam that requires an earlier re-examination time, you may need to be reassessed sooner. For example, according to the AAFP, people who take blood pressure medication must be recertified annually to maintain their standing with the DOT.

  • What can disqualify you from a DOT physical?

According to the FMCSA, the following conditions can disqualify you from a DOT physical: hearing loss, vision loss, epilepsy (seizure disorder), or insulin use. Some prescription medications may also be disqualifying, especially if they are sedating or habit-forming, according to the FMCSA.

  • What happens if you fail DOT physical?

If you fail a DOT physical because of a certain medical condition, you can apply for a medical waiver or an exemption, according to the FMCSA. This may be granted if you can prove that you can still operate a motor vehicle safely, despite the condition. You are also allowed to get a second opinion, according to the eCFR (Code of Federal Regulations).

  • Does a DOT physical check for drugs?

No, the typical DOT physical does not test for drugs. However, professional drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing, according to the FMCSA. Also, if your DOT physical is part of a pre-employment process, then your urine will likely be checked for drugs, according to the Code of Federal Regulations.
