I was able to schedule an appointment for my daughter and be seen within 30 mins of scheduling. Checked in online and brought back immediately for testing and then called back within 10 mins and maybe waited less than 10 minutes for the provider. He was friendly and professional. I really appreciated his efforts to help my daughter feel comfortable as she was embarrassed regarding the reason for her visit. I would definitely recommend to others, especially nice for parents who work and aren’t able to get into their normal pediatrician office.

Scheduled appointment online and fill out paperwork. Check-in was fast and easy. Staff I found to be friendly but lack of name badges with their position was very disappointing. I would actually consider that very unprofessional considering medical field urgent care. People like to know with whom they are speaking and what their position or specialty may be. DOCTOR, NURSE, administrative, or Nurse practitioner with specialty.

I was impressed with our entire experience. Receptionist was very helpful. The person who saw us initially may have been having a bad day. Pamela, NP, was excellent, very experienced and professional. If we need assistance again, we’ll be back. Thanks for taking such good care of our little one.

Urgent care in Prosper, TX

Prosper is an affluent, fast-growing Collin/Denton County suburb between Frisco and McKinney with a Prosper ISD enrollment that has nearly doubled in the last decade. Book a same-day walk-in slot in Prosper or in urgent care in Dallas in under a minute.

What services do urgent care clinics in Prosper offer?

Prosper urgent care clinics handle the standard load — strep, flu, UTIs, ear infections, sprains, lacerations, allergic reactions — plus sports physicals for Prosper ISD athletics, on-site labs, and X-ray. All three major DFW systems are active in the corridor: Texas Health Resources, Baylor Scott & White, and Medical City Healthcare (HCA/CareNow) each run urgent care or ER-affiliated walk-ins in Prosper, Celina, Frisco, and McKinney.2

Does urgent care in Prosper accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most Prosper urgent care clinics accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, leaving working-age adults outside the standard STAR criteria in a known coverage gap — KFF tracks Texas as the highest uninsured-rate state in the country.3 Most clinics also accept commercial plans common to the affluent Prosper market (BCBS Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna).

How does Prosper urgent care relate to Dallas?

Prosper has grown from under 10,000 residents in 2010 to over 40,000 today, repeatedly ranking among the fastest-growing U.S. cities of its size.4 It sits about 35 miles north of downtown Dallas at the Collin/Denton County line, with most residents tied economically to the broader Frisco-Plano corporate corridor and routinely escalating into urgent care in Dallas for specialty care.

Urgent Care Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there urgent care clinics in Prosper?

Yes. Prosper, TX has walk-in urgent care available either directly in town or within a short drive in adjacent communities. Most clinics offer same-day visits for common illnesses and minor injuries, with on-site labs and X-ray where needed. Use Solv to see real-time availability and book a slot before you walk in.
  • Does urgent care in Prosper accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Prosper area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services. STAR is delivered through several managed care organizations (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, United, etc.), so confirm with the specific clinic which MCOs they contract with before booking. Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so working-age adults outside the standard STAR eligibility criteria typically do not qualify.
  • What insurance do urgent care centers in Prosper accept?

Most Prosper-area urgent care clinics accept commercial insurance plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana), Medicare, and TRICARE for active-duty military and veterans. Many also accept STAR (Texas Medicaid). Cash-pay and self-pay options are widely available — average urgent care visit costs run $100-$250 depending on services. Confirm your specific plan and copay with the clinic before booking.
  • Should I go to urgent care or the ER in Prosper?

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations needing stitches, minor burns, ear infections, mild asthma flares — usually for a fraction of an ER bill and with shorter waits. Go to the ER (or call 911) for chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion, or any condition that feels life-threatening. The nearest hospital ER for Prosper residents is Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
  • Are pediatric urgent care options available in Prosper?

Yes. Several Prosper-area clinics — including pediatric-specific offerings from PM Pediatrics and Cook Children's urgent care network nearby — handle children specifically, with pediatric-trained staff and equipment. Given Prosper ISD's rapid growth, peak demand windows (cold and flu season, back-to-school physicals) fill up early, so booking online is the safest bet.
