I went in for fever, very bad chills and body aches, and a horrific cough with wheezing. Was covid and flu tested, both came back negative. Provider said he sees “forty patients a day with the same symptoms it’s just viral” and sent me on my way with an inhaler and 3 days of prednisone. He said if I wasn’t better in a week to come back but he guaranteed I would be better in 3 days. I took my prescription as prescribed, my symptoms got even worse so I went to a different urgent care that determined I actually have pneumonia. I feel like my concerns were completely brushed off and not taken seriously, and because of that my toddler is now also suffering with pneumonia. My advice would be to not sound so cocky when talking to patients and actually listen to them when they state their symptoms.
